WHO MADE A PROFESSION OF HIS PASSION
Isn't this a dream? To see your deepest wish forfilled, passion -- hobby--profession, or semi profession.
My oldest sister has. She started very young, going to a school to learn "ballet". Unfortunately for her, there were my parents, having standards who were too high. She was ASKED to continue in the most prestigious ballet school in BELGIUM, when she was 14 years old, where the main activity was ballet, but they also followed regular classes. After these studies, she could continue studying and having a "diploma" to teach.
PROBLEM: Mam and Dad's answer was very clear, first getting your diploma (at school = 18 years), and we'll see when you finished school. Those were the days my friend, I hope they never end, but I am glad that most parents think different now.
Yes, they can PUSH their kid to become what they dreamed to be. My daughter was asked at 16, by a lot of agencies, prepared to invest in her to become a model (if you want to see a picture, no problem) but she refused. It was hard at first to hear her saying NEVER daddy, but I am a proud father to have a child making a decision, while hundreds of girls are dreaming of.
So (EXCEPT FOR SOUTHPAW (no offence, we are friends))
- is there a chordian, earning a lot of money, by performing and playing, solo or in a band?
- is there a chordian, able to live, playing his music?
- is there a chordian who is semi-professional, working and playing as hobby, earning $$$?
- is there a chordian, having a job, but playing in a weekend, or on weddings?
I love this question. I don't know if someone wants to tell how much he earns by playing and performing, or how much you ask to play, on MY wedding?

WHAT IS A REASONABLE PRICE IF THEY ASK YOU TO PERFORM IN A BAR? WHEN I WAS IN NASHVILLE, AT NOON, AND IN ALMOST EVERY BAR, SOMEBODY WAS PLAYING, COUNTRY AND WESTERN, OFTEN ALONE, sometimes with the help of a device, providing drums, bass.
AT NIGHT: YOU COULD SEE AND HEAR BANDS, PLAYING ON TABLES, WAW I still have so many great memories. Same in Memphis, in the BB King club, there was a band playing SRV, JIMI HENDRIX as if they were SRV or JH

Don't be shy to answer this topic.
I ONLY WANTED TO KNOW if there are chordians, playing in a band, who are able to live a better FINANCIAL life, by performing.

If I should play on the street, in the USA, on a good spot, where a lot of people pass,  is it LEGAL, and if yes, there must be at least a few, who played on the street, and if it's worth to play for a few hours, not as a beginner, but knowing enough chords and songs to do this.
