Topic: show us your guitar

This idea came up on one of the threads. I'm not quite sure how to do it yet but I thought it would be a cool idea to post pictures of our guitars and get to see what everybody plays. If anyone can help get this started and maby tell us how to do it I would appriciate it.

Re: show us your guitar

Don't know how to post a picture here, and 23 guitars is a lot too

The ability to post images has been removed due to abuse by porn spammers.

We hates them.

Re: show us your guitar

Jerome is correct. The option for posting pics on the forum had to be removed to stop the idiots posting pics of porn.

But you can do what I done and post them on to a site like flickr and then put a link in t he chat section for people to go see your intruments.

here is a pic of nearly all the intruments I have. I have a few more since this was taken about 2 years ago.

Thats great Ken, I'll give that a try. Beautiful collection by the way.

Re: show us your guitar

Hi Jcellini,

How's this for an idea. Why not open a flickr site or similar and get Chordie members to send you photo's of their guitars and you can then upload them so they are all in one place. For members I run Friends of Chordie, Guitarpix runs a YouTube site for videos you could run one for photo's. Food for thought.

Re: show us your guitar

Of course mine are in my signature. I've got a few more that I'll try to get pics of tonight and add to them. Peace!

Ken, that's quite a range there! I bet you never get borred huh. A few of those I've never seen anything like before. Nice! Peace!

That sounds like a great idea, but I don't really know how to set something like that up. I just tried to put up a site like ken did and couldn't get it to go.

I believe fickr is a yahoo site and you need a yahoo acct to join. Photobucket should work for anyone though...I think.

Re: show us your guitar

I think having the forum software allow or disallow image linking on a per account basis is the best idea.  New posters have to have 10 posts or something before they can link to images.

Keeps the pr0n spammers at bay, and allows the real users of the forum to link images in.

that would be a good idea Jerome, but i do not know if that would be possible, that is a question for Per.

You have a Garrison? That's the company in St. John's, correct? How do you like it?

I Love it!!  It's a fairly recent addition though...Only had it for about a month. I heard that Gibson had bought the company so I searched for a mint pre gibson model. Mine's an 'o4. I know how the prices sored (or are starting to sore)on pre-fender Tacomas. So i figured the market would probably act accordingly with the pre-Gibson Garrisons. So I bought it with the intent to sale later on but after playing it, it will probably stay with me for quite awhile! It is rather bright but not too much so. Almost like a piano sound. Mine hadn't been played much though and I feel like she's going to open up and balance out real nicely. You can't beat the price on a solid wood guitar!! I'd highly recommend picking one up before the prices start skyrocketing! Peace!

I know the guy who makes them, actually. I live about four hour's drive from St. John's.

Re: show us your guitar

This is a very interesting topic. We all like to know what instrument you play and share ideas and pictures.
I am not a computer wizard, but can one of the many chordians create an extra website, like
www.chordieguitarspics.com to name a title for a website. A website where every member can show the guitar or guitars he/she wants to show? I will use this as topic title, inspired by jcellini.

Hey bonedaddy, thats great. That might be the easiest way to post your pictures without going through all the trouble of setting up a seperate site. I have pictures in a file, but I can't figure out how to get them here. Can anyone help. I am no Bill Gates.!

No problem!
1  Go to photobucket.com and set up an account - it's as easy as this site.
2  When you get logged in, there's a box with 3 blank boxes and an upload button.  Click the top browse button next to the empty box at the top.  This will open a window to your hard drive.
3  Navigate to your photo folder and select a photo.  Click on the 'open' button on this window and it will transfer your photo title to the photobucket box.
4  When you've filled these boxes, click on 'add more'.  Continue until you have selected all the photos you want to upload.
5  Then click 'upload'.  This transfers your photos to the photobucket album where you can add titles and stuff.
6  You can then right click in the address bar, select 'copy' and come to chordie, open up a reply window in the forum and paste the address of your album.
7  Voila!

cool  Gotta go now, too much typing!

Cheers

Re: show us your guitar

Hi, JCellini

You gotta be careful with stuff like that!  You pasted the URL directly after a full stop which sends everything haywire.  I quoted you and separated the URL from the rest of your post... You got some fine looking guitars!

BTW did you get the tuner I sent you a while back?

cool

Thanks, I'm not sure I understand what you did, but thanks. I did find a tuner,Thanks. I have a digital tuner, but I was having problems using it on my 12 string. I found a cheaper one that does the trick. I hope everyone takes your advice on posting there pictures, I love seeing what everyone plays.
