Topic: Song reverts from Corrected to Original when transposing chords

I was trying to transpose the chords on "For You" by Bruce Springsteen but something didn't look right. Apparently the original poster corrected the song to include the omitted opening lines. When I attempt to transpose the chords the song apparently reverts to the original version and the omitted lines that were corrected have disappeared!

Originally I was using IE as a browser but because my son claims that IE is bad for my health and the well-being of the general public, I decided to try a different browser to see if the problem was on my side. But the same thing happens when accessing it from Firefox. SO I think that there is a problem at the website.

Am I doing something wrong?  Has this topic been discussed before? (I searched for other postings on this subject & found none).

Please help!!!

Re: Song reverts from Corrected to Original when transposing chords

hi oldlaughing lady

and welcome to chordie.

And thank you for reporting this.
It seems like a bug.
The original did start with the F chord, but like you say when you transpse it, it goes wonky.

per the chodie creator si the only person that can fix this.
I am sure he will sort this out as soon as he can.

Anymore bugs or problems it is always good to report them with a link like you have done

thank you

Hello Ken,

Thanks for your speedy reply. Glad to hear that it's an actual glitch in the program and not just me being stupid.

Sorry about the double posting. I thought that perhaps I had posted to the wrong area and so I reposted in a different category... I won't do that again. How about cutting an old Jersey Girl some slack?

Re: Song reverts from Corrected to Original when transposing chords

Hi OldLaughingLady & another welcome to chordie!

Wow, that song is really a mess.  I'm not sure it is a bug - I suspect it might just be a poorly-made version of the song with flawed coding and other problems.

I moved it into my songbook and then opened it with the 'edit' button.  Seems that it needs some tender loving care.  Apparently, the corrections that were made did not really correct the coding.

My copy of the 'Asbury Park' album was destroyed by an ex-girlfriend (but that's another story).  I'll try to find a recording of this song and see if I can't 'fix the fixes'.  I can remember liking this song, but it has been a few years since I heard it . . .
