Re: help on tuning?

Well, er...

Im guessing that the first C is the sixth string. It wouldnt make any sense otherwise.

From standard tuning -

Tune down the first string till it matches pitch with the third fret of the second string.

Tune down the second string till it matches pitch with the second fret of the third string.

Tune down the third string till it matches pitch with the third fret of the fourth string.

Tune down the fourth string till it matches pitch with the third fret of the fifth string.

Tune down the fifth string till it matches pitch with the third fret of the sixth string.

Tune down the sixth string till when you fret the 7th fret sixth string it matches pitch with the open fifth string.

Odd tuning...

For getting back up to standard tuning use a tuner or just reverse the above directions. That should work... i think.

Hope i helped.

i will give it a whirl.its a heavy tuning and big time fun!

Re: help on tuning?

hey dalex,a guitar tuner cost about 15 bucks and makes it really easy however, lets say your top(6th) string is in or close to tuned, all you would do is fret the top string at 5th fret and tune the {5th}string to the sound of the {6th}that you have fretted at the 5th fret.then fret the 5th string at the 5th fret and tune the 4th string to the pitch of the 5th string you have fretted at the 5th fret, what your trying to do is get them to sound exactly alike.next you fret the 4th string at the 5th fret and tune the 3rd string to that pitch, now your going to switch it up a bit and this is the only time its different, here we go,fret the 3rd string at the 4th fret and tune the 2nd string to that pitch, now your going back to the same as above so,fret the 2nd string at the 5th fret and tune the 1st string to that pitch, now your guitar is in tune. weather your 6th string{top} is in 440 {standard} tuning or not,at least your guitar is in tune with itself, hope that makes sense
