Topic: Need help!

My sister is getting married next month, and she would like to sing a song to her husband at the wedding, and she doesn't have any good ideas, so if you guys would have some ideas, I would be glad.

Re: Need help!

"I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde might just be the song your sister is looking for...............

Give everything but up.

Re: Need help!

I would avoid "Send In The Clowns".

I learned "Forever and Ever Amen" to play to my wife on our 20th anniversary, and then also "Flesh and Blood", which fits because she sometimes gets jealous of my outdoors time and that song has the line 'Mother Nature is quite a lady, but you're the one I need.'

Maybe one of those would fit, depending on your sister's musical tastes and singing ability.

Thank you.

Free Bird!!!!

No seriously, what music does he like? All country is good for the occasion, something like George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" perhaps?

You have to forget about what other people say; when you're supposed to die, when you're supposed to be lovin'. You have to forget about all these things. You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven.

Re: Need help!

It may be corny but I always thought Shania's "From This Moment" was a beautiful wedding song.

Re: Need help!

How about "Can't Help Falling In Love" - Elvis Presley

Or "Groovy Kind Of Love" - The Mindbenders and later Phil Collins

Or "There'll Never Be Anyone Else" - Ricky Nelson

All a bit dated but classics that are easy to play and sing and convey the right mesage.

Hey - am I the only geezer here who remembers 'The Wedding Song' by Noel 'Paul' Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary)?

Here is one of several versions indexed on chordie:

Here is video of Stookey singing one of the all time best wedding songs:

I have heard this song played both very simply and very fancy - either way, it sounds great.

Agreed. Even though it's always played and associated with weddings that song is an all time classic. Just a fantastic song. I wish I could write a song like that. Play that 1.
A because it's a wedding.
B because it's lyrically appropriate
C because it's just a great song

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.
