Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I have a wonderful so in love with Tanglewood TW170-ASCE (Acoustic Electric) and a Fender Squire Strat, which after alot of what I have read on this forum seems to be a big big mistake - please tell me it isn't so ...

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

Just got one of those G&L classic S3's guys you just gotta check these out. The craftsmanship, & sound are terrific i tell ya,maybe thats why they are expensive but honestly of this world.. well done Leo Fender & R.I.P.

Got it at a great price from Hartnoll guitar center in plymouth, UK, dont worry if you live miles away, they break their necks to help you & get you sorted 10/10....nuff said.

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I play a Fender-by-Squier "Strat".  not my first choice, but it was a gift, so I can't complain.  Great guitar.  It is my first and only.

Keep shreding

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

Takamine EG561-C
Fender Standard MIM

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I have:
I real, just straight-ahead Sigma D-18 (nothing to really write home about, but it hasn't lost anything since I got it 25 years ago new... hasn't gained much either)
... and a Martin D-16H, that just pounds. I bought this new many years ago, and have had the nut and saddle replaced and use brass string pegs. Never much liked the tuners on it but am really spooked to replace those, the sound is just right for me.

(btw, Zign, Wayne Charvel lives up here in my neck of the woods, and still makes guitars. Look for "Wayne" guitars)

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

My sig lists what I play.  The mandolin belonged to my uncle and when he passed away I was allowed to have it.  It's one of the first mandolins made after production started back up after WW2.  The Yamaha I got for Christmas '73.  It's well used & abused and on it's 3rd case.  I filed the bridge a bit many years ago and the action is real nice.  The Squire is the bolt-on neck model and after a few adjustments it plays sweet.  I recently tried a VG Strat and prefer the feel of my M-80.  It's got a satin finish neck that feels great.  I run it through a Fender Frontman 25R and a Behringer FX600 multi effects pedal.

Okay, I changed my sig so I guess I need to update this.  The mandolin is a 1947 Gibson A50, The Yamaha is a 1972 FG-75. I added piezo pickups from JB Electronics for use when playing open mikes.  Not sure of the year of the Squire M-80.  I have also acquired an Esteban American Legacy Master Class Cutaway Acoustic-Electric in black.  The preamp went south just after I got it so I bought another one online.  It's sort of a butcher job installing it but it sounds nice plugged in.  Most people can't believe it's an Esteban.

Sometimes you have to burn a few bridges
to keep the crazies from following you.

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I own a Cort acoustic and a Kramer Focus electric...both of them are really great but I love my Kramer!  If anyone's looking for something affordable but a decent sound Kramer is an awesome choice. wink

EKO Rio Grande I bought in 1969 and travelled the world with me while I was in the Navy. It has been swamped in beer, thrown out of bars with me attached, taken off across the messdeck in rough weather but still has a deep mellow sound and plays as good as the day I got it.
Also have an Epi Hummingbird.

Here's tae us, Wha's like us?
Damn few an' thier a' deid

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

Mine is a Godin A-6.  Scale length is 25.5".

I'm obsessed with thin-body acoustic-electrics.  Hope to get one with a shorter scale length.

Any one can advise a make and model, please?

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I have a guild d25b (bluegrass) circa 1970.  I borrowed it from my dad around 1985, and have never given it back. (I keep forgetting to bring it with me when I visit him, you know I finished highschool, whent to college, got married, moved several dozen times, ect..) It sounds great, but I still suck; even after 20+ years........How does that song go a gain  My dog has fleas...fleas....fleas...I still cant play.

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

Ovation Balladeer
Fender Strat  MIJ.  '62 reissue fotoFlame @1993.  (Alder body not basswood).  well made with quality parts but lacks American pickups.

I want to upgrade the Ovation to a Takemine and add a Gibson ES-335.

That's alright, I got my guitar

Re: What kind of guitar do you have?

I have 2 Guild guitars, love them both, had one for 35 years.  I also have a self made replica weissenborn type guitar made from Tasmanian blackwood.

Gibson J45, made in 1944, Fender Stratocaster, custom shop, Ibaniz hollow body, (the pretty maple model), Menphis humbuckler, Ovation 6919 (or something like that) and a 1943 Kay six string.
