Why is it when you a real urge to play and don't have a lot of time is there always a broken string on your guitar.
And why oh why does the D string always go when the local music shop is out.

There is a scientific explanation for this:-
It comes under Murphy's Law (there is a ruder name for it but this is a child friendly site).
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong and usually at the most inconvenient time.
