Topic: Longest Standing Member

Hi Everyone,

I was just posting on another topic about how many members there are on Chordie, and started wondering just who might be the longest standing member of Chordie, who has the most time in, the old pro's and maybe you could tell us about all the changes you've seen on chordie over it's exsistence.

Re: Longest Standing Member

Interesting question . . . I went into the user list and sorted by registration date.  Found out that there are dozens of pages of chordie members who all registered on March 4, 2006.

This seems peculiar.  The only explanation I can come up with is that all these members were actually registered prior to March 4, 2006.

Chordie's creator, Per, has improved and expanded the site several times.  Probably at some point all current members were imported together into an updated software version on March 4, 2006.

Upyerkilt (Ken) is the longest serving forum moderator.  Like Ken, I had been using chordie for some time before registering.  After registering, I did not access the forum for some time.

Chordie has undergone many changes since I started using the site.  The index has expanded.  The membership has grown.  Useful features have been added.  Chordie continues to be one of the best-designed and useful sites on the internet.

I stumbled on chordie while searching for lyrics and chords to "When I Paint My Masterpiece".  Little did I know then that I had found one of the internet's masterpieces!

Re: Longest Standing Member

Thanks James,

I thought it was interesting myself to know these things. Like you I stumbled upon this site while searching for songs, tabs, and chords. I even bypassed it a few times before ever giving it a look, when I finally realized all it had to offer, I've seldom looked elsewhere. Many thanks to Per, and all the moderaters for such a great site.

Re: Longest Standing Member

"The longest standing member" well this could be interpreted several ways lol if your referring to longevity I would have to cast my vote for ken, if on the other hand your reference is to who would be standing last at a party at the end of the night that would be open for debate lol perhaps some day we may all be all together in the same place to test this hypothesis lol

Re: Longest Standing Member

I get the feeling out of the regulars here at least, I would say it would be James. I am sure he registered before me, although I might have started using the forum a few days before him?

You are right. I should stop using the admin-account to post messages, and use my private account instead...

Feeling a bit powerless, but it it good to know that it just takes me 10 seconds to switch back to admin..  <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">

Charolette,
I have no idea what your post was about there.
I have never made my name a secret, it is Ken always have signed off as Ken and always will. I have never been asked to be called Mr. Admin and never claimed to be Mr.Admin.

Eh looks like maybe yer saying you have been on a long time as well?
I really have no idea,
any chance of clarifying what you are trying to say please?

Also I have no idea why you have quoted all those messages, am I missing something here?

Sorry Ken, didn't mean to confuse you. These are posts from yourself, Pere and myself when the site was changed.

Go to your profile and check back on your earlier posts and you will find it.

Just checked, you made the post on 4.4.2006. Hope that explains it.

I joined fairly early on also, but went away for a long time.  Such is my guitar experience in my life.  I get excited and play for awhile, then stop for years, until now.  I am retired and play every day for my self

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.
