Topic: Full screen - new feature

Hi,

Just introducing a new feature: "Full screen view".

If you go to a song, you will find this option on the right hand menu.

This is a feature for those that are sitting in front of their computer playing guitar. You will get a lot more of the song on the the screen, and you will be able to adjust the number of columns and font-size.

Please test, and give me feedback..<img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">

Note: Due to the way Chordie is built, it might take a few hours until all songs has this feature enabled.

Re: Full screen - new feature

Cool, Now I WILL start practicing in front of the computer!

Re: Full screen - new feature

excellent addition,, its so much easier to read.

Re: Full screen - new feature

the forums back to normal. i just tried to print angel of harlem / u2 , using the new view.. some of the chords ( Am ) ( f ) are right on top of the lyrics.

Re: Full screen - new feature

Random checks for full screen mode show most songs corrupted - no chords showing and disrupted lyrics!  I understand that you are trying to make improvments, so I will continue to monitor and give feedback if improvements are evident - watch this space!

Re: Full screen - new feature

Thanks for reporting this.

Could you post 1-2 example urls. Urls where you see the error. Please also tell me what browser you are using, and if you are logged in.

You could also use this url as reference:

<a href="http&#58;&#47;&#47;www.chordie.com/chord.pere/teman.com/guitarz/TABs/m/LikeAPrayer.chopro" target="_blank"> http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/teman … z/TABs/m/L ikeAPrayer.chopro</a>

How does this look when you press "full screen"?

Most likely this is a local cache problem. I am not able to reproduce this on general basis at my site (tested 5-10 songs, and all was normal).

Re: Full screen - new feature

I think I have found a way round the problem -= when I now launch 'full screen' mode and toggle between I column and 2 column modes it shows everything as it should be!

I'm happy with that

Re: Full screen - new feature

Thanks mxs.

Great to hear about the workaround. I still consider this a bug though, since many people will not find this themselves.

Unfortunately I am not able to debug this myself, since I can not reproduce this error.

I have made a small change (forcing the browser to download the most recent version of the stylesheet). Could you try again, and see if it works directly now?

Re: Full screen - new feature

wow perfect feature for printing too! nice work men <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">

Re: Full screen - new feature

Actually, it will work if you just print from the original page as well. I am using a css-stylesheet that hides things like menues etc... You will not be writing what you see on the screen.

Unfortunately, you will not notice this "feature" until you press "print". I guess I should find a way to label it...

Re: Full screen - new feature

<img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_sad.gif" border=0 alt="Sad"> too bad... I find it very unconfortable to print tons of nonsense pages, :S hope this will improve with time

Re: Full screen - new feature

There should be NO difference at all between these pages when they are printed! To select two coulmn layout should actually not have any effect on what is printed, just on what is shown on the screen.

This might not make very much sense if you are not a web-developer. But if you experience that the page you are printing differs, please contact me(tell me what browser you are using). It is then a bug, and it will likely take me just a few seconds to fix it.

Re: Full screen - new feature

Pretty bad not to print this fine view  <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_confused.gif" border=0 alt="Confused"> Also the words LAYOUT AND ACCURACY are being prited on the title making it sometime unreadable <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_sad.gif" border=0 alt="Sad"> I don't know how to stop printing Rating at the end of the page neigther... It doesn't allow me to cut and paste neigther  <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_eek.gif" border=0 alt="Shocked">  <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif" border=0 alt="Rolling Eyes"> fell kind of frustrated.

Re: Full screen - new feature

I am sorry. Just a typo. It took seconds to fix.

Strange nobody reported it earlier.

Thanks for reporting it. Could you verify that it looks better now? (No "layout/accuracy" and no stars).

Re: Full screen - new feature

Nope... It still continues showing the error. I tried printing this song: <a href="http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.ultimate-guitar.com/print.php?what=tab&id=21149" target="_blank"> http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.u … tar.com/pr int.php?what=tab&id=21149</a> from a Firefox web browser. I'm thinking about printing a Screen Capture <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif" border=0 alt="Razz"> of the two column view... It's just so pretty!!!  <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">

Re: Full screen - new feature

Could you go to "print preview", then take a screenshot, and send it to me (<a href="mailto:admin&#64;chordie.com" target="_blank">admin&#64;chordie.com</a>)?

Please also try to reload the page using "shift-reload".

Re: Full screen - new feature

It seems to be fixed now. Thank you!

Re: Full screen - new feature

I'm a brand new member, just registered within last ten mins or so. I came across your site whilst searching for possibility of finding Pretty Woman by Roy Orb in G chord. Seen many chord sites this last week and I have to say, you guys got it sorted. Not only do I like the full screen idea, I love the fact that songs can be adjusted to match singers key.

I hope to be around a long time and who knows, maybe even have something to contribute. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">
