Topic: What are C#m and Ab chords on the Uke please?

Hi All,

Trying to do a song which has (guitar chords) a C#m in it and an Ab . I cant work out what they should be on the Uke. I've tried a few Uke dictionaries of chords but I'm not finding a decent match for either of these.
Rest of the song is fine with E, B  and A in it but these 2 are really winding me up!!
I'm GCEA-Tuned btw smile

Can anyone offer the correct chords and if possible how you worked them out?

Thanks lots,

C#m:

Ab:

Rule No. 1 - If it sounds good - it is good!

The A-flat is just a G chord shape 1 fret higher. You'll need to fret the 4th string for a C, instead of the open G. I usually make it a partial bar chord, like this:

Now the C# minor - slide the "form" of the A flat up a fret, and lift your finger off the second string... C# minor!
