Topic: I Took the Wrong Car, Baby

I've an extra two hours driving to work each day, now we're out of the house. Cars have suddenly become my obsession !

This is a relatively meaningless, but hopefully fun, poem.

I Took the Wrong Car, Baby

I took the wrong car, baby.
I took your wheels
Now it's over to you, baby.
Now you c'n chase me !!!!!

Your heavy metal's left home, baby
I took the keys
Now you gotta find me

I left the Jag up on bricks, baby
My old Chevy's in the street
Guess it's time to meet.

Your little stick shift's screamin'. baby
Corners on two wheels
Maybe you should find me.

Your paint's a little scuffed up, baby
I forgot about the brakes,
Cos I got what it takes.

Got my eyes on the mirror, baby
Longin' for your lights
Want you in my bed tonight

Hi,

Yes, you can see it coming - Maybelline meets Little Red Corvette.

At the minute the chords I have for it are

Chorus

D - Asus2 - D
D - G - D

Verse

A - G - D

Great Stuff about the journal - I thought I'd missed it as the house was closed up for a few weeks and the postie didn't like climbing over the wall !

Re: I Took the Wrong Car, Baby

This reminds me of a funny story that happened the other day smile

My mother and father in-law just bought a new car and she was supposed to follow him in the old truck to their other daughters house. Well all is going fine and she is following him and then all of a sudden he turns off and starts hitting back streets. He's rushing to the next road and turning off like he is trying to shake her. She figures it's a game and gives chase!! She proceeds to chase him all over town for about 30 minutes. Finally a few cops intervene and pulls her over....  Turns out, at some point she got the cars confused and was following the wrong car smile The little old lady that she had been chasing all over town was scared witless and had called the cops on the car that was trying to run her down lol Yep that's where my wife gets it wink She was probably chasing some other guy when she found me smile

[b][color=#FF0000]If your brain is part of the process, you're missing it. You should play like a drowning man, struggling to reach shore. If you can trap that feeling, then you have something.

Re: I Took the Wrong Car, Baby

Great Story GuitarPix, I can imagine how she felt when she realized she was folling the wrong car, and the lady she was following had to be scared to death.

Great Poem to StranSongs, I've never in all my time in Chordie ever even looked at the poem section until now, I'll have to visit more often.

Re: I Took the Wrong Car, Baby

Great story , Pix.

Reminds me of an old song

My old man said "Follow the van,
And don't dilly dally on the way".
Off went the van wiv me 'ome packed in it,
I followed on wiv me old cock linnet.
But I dillied and dallied, dallied and I dillied
Lost me way and don't know where to roam.
Well you can't trust a special like the old time coppers
When you can't find your way 'ome

And here it is sung by Danny La Rue  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1NHh3gE4c0
