Re: Oldie But Goodies

In 1969, I pounced on this song when it first came out. It was fun to sing and the young 'uns would pack the dance floor every time we did it.

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".

Those are some great songs.  one thing good about this thread is I am sometimes reminded of a song I had forgotten.  And of course the memories they give.
here is joan Baez.

Excellent, Russell.  That's what music is all about for me.  Good memories and bad, I suppose.  Here is another new song by Neil young.  that's what he says anyway.  A great song.

Joan Baez, Diamonds and rust.

I adore this lady, her voice, the way she plays guitar. My sis who passed and I used to sing all her songs.

I also had the pleasure of meeting her and her Mother. They were the essence of ladies , both of them.

Not familiar with that one Old Doll, but I do know Diamonds and Rust, but never heard it by Judas Priest.  I like it.
I figured I would introduce the Beatles.

Definitely, Judas Priest does a good job with Diamonds and Rust.  And what makes it good, is that they put their signature stamp on it without degrading the tune.  In short their version is NOT a rotten remake.  And thats what separates the good musicians from the wannabe's.

The backup band never quite knew what Chuck Berry was going to do onstage - or what key he might decide to do a song in.

Re: Oldie But Goodies

I love Chuck Berry.  He was rock and roll.  And Eric Clapton is one of the greatest blues people around.  I do admit, Old Doll, I have never heard that song by him though.  It is really good.
Keeping it slow for a minute, here is one of my favorite slow blues tunes by Gary Moore.
