my friend sends me a copy of the exact same lyrics that it took him seven
seconds to download. Oh well... either way, here are th correct lyrics
to 'Its The End of the World As We Know it (and I Feel Fine.'
That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an
aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs. Feed it up a
knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear--fight
down hype. Wire in a fire, representatives engage in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me is the rapture in the
reverent and the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight,
bright light, feeling pretty psyched.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a
candle,
light a votive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegades steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me
alternatives
and I decline.
(Note: A tournament of lies is one interpretation... another common one is
'I'll turn 'em in, I'll turn 'em in, I'll turn 'em in in a flash.')
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
The other night I dreamt, a nice continental drift divide. Mount St.
Edelite. Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

style='COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 11px;'>Very easy: here we go:Should I stay or should I go
1 = D-D-D-G-G-G-G-D 1+ = D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D 2 = C-C-C-Bb-Bb-Bb-Bb-C 2+ = C-C-C-Bb-Bb-Bb-Bb-C 3 = A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A 3+ = A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A
1+, 2+, 3+ are played during the fast part. The D and the G are done as open chords, for the G just play open the D, G and B strings. The C and Bb of 2 and 2+ I play them only on 2 strings with distorsion. For example the C is played on the D and G strings, 5th position, the Bb on the same strings, 3rd position. The A is played as an open chord.

You should be able to work out the backing for the verses, and there's no way I'm typing the solos in! As for effects... well, Slash has distortion (Marshall Jubilee stack), delay (added at the console) and Wah for the final solo (Crybaby). I think Izzy just has distortion. Oh yeah, they probably have a bit of chorus for the backing behind the verses. If people really want I can type in the backing but I'd have to look it up at home.

This solo took me about 28 hours in all to tab, and hopefully now I have got the tab note perfect or at least very close to it. Seeing as I spent this much time tabbing this solo it would be nice to hear what people think of it so that the next tab I do may be better or more understandable. Mail me on 106051.3350@compuserve.com.If you feel brave enough to attempt this tab then good luck to you! Go for it!!!

Watching the telly and thinking about your holidays
That's entertainment, that's entertainment-Ahh! (la la la)
Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume
A hot summer's day and sticky black tarmac
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight
Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude
Getting a cab and travelling on buses
Reading the grafitti about slashed seat affairs
I say that's entertainment, that's entertainment-Ahh! (la la la)
La la la... (to fade)
NOTE: At last, the complete correct words! I can't understand a thing
Paul Weller ever says, but luckily I have the lyric sheet from 'Sound
Affects'. P.S.- does anyone have the words for 'The Bitterest Pill'? I
kind of figured out the guitar but I don't have the slightest idea what
he's saying.

| C | D | Am | G | |
| So, so you think you can | tell, heaven from | hell? Blue skies from | pain? |
| D | C | Am | |
| Can you tell a green | field, from a cold steel | rail? A smile from a | veil? |
| G | C | D | |
| Do you think you can | tell? Did they get you to | trade, your heroes for | ghosts? |
| Am | G | D | |
| Hot ashes for | trees? Hot air for a | cool breeze? Cold comfort for | change |
| C | Am | G | |
| And did you ex | change, a walk-on part in the | war, for a lead role in a | cage... |
(guitar solo - repeat intro)
| C | D | |
| How I wish, how I wish you were | here |
| Am | G | D | |
| We're just | two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl | , year after year |
| C | Am | |
| Running over the same old ground | , what have we found - the same old | fears? |
| G | |
| Wish you were | here |
INTRODUCTION
(Well my version of it-you'll have to work out the solo yourself-I
only play this one on my own so the actual solo sounds a bit suspect!)
--0--3------------ Strum g ---------3------------ strum g
--------0--2------ a feW -------2-------------- again!!
--------------3--- TimeS -----2----------------
------------------ --0-------------------
------------------ ----------------------
------------------ ----------------------
This sounds pretty good, not the actual sheet
music version but fits very well with the above chords!!!!!
The actual music is in another key, lots of sus chords which is
practically the same sound as above!!!!
Wish you were here - Pink Floyd

WISH YOU WERE HERE album 1975
tabbed by Ray Espinoza
This is the only version i heard from the wish you were here cd.
I am tabbing this by ear so it may not be perfect but
it sounds hella cool. hope you like it,
Ray
This is played in standard tuning low to high
| E | A | D | G | B | E | |
the into/fill is used a few times in the song
Guitar1 plays this: Fill1

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Keep you doped with religion and sex and T.V.
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
STRUMMING PATTERN:
On the Am, hit the base string (A), then strum a bit. Then hit the open
D string and hammer onto the second fret, strum a bit more, and repeat ad
nauseum. The D chords in paranetheses I sometimes add for
variety, but they don't actually exist on the album.
