Im with you on the beatles ,so many great songs .
the stones did some great songs also,i think we tend to put the beatles ahead
because of their range of music eg helter skelter to yellow submarine to hey jude
but we often forget, sympathy for the devil to lady jane to wild horses

one of my favourite videos

i used a bit of poetic licence,we actually won a game once.
it ruined our 100% losing record though.of course it didnt
say much for the team we beat.

One of the sports i play is tennis.we have a team of old guys
that travel around in summer to various clubs and usually compete
against  players quite a bit younger.but know one enjoys it more than us
no matter the result.

Dizzy Heights of D Grade
there once was a team
at the bottom of the grade
they were digging their own hole
with a raquet not a spade
had not one point
at the end of the season
not being good players
was probably the reason
all of the team
enjoyed a good hit
but often admitted
that they`d played like s***

forgotten songs that i like.mostly 6os.
you wont hear any of these on the sixties radio stations

pretty well all rock bands have the same line up of instruments.
this band were not afraid to throw everything but the kitchen sink into their music.
live this song had a amazing spoon solo.

It was just a moment in time
a star that shone so bright
then turned to dust

it was just a moment in time
a shiny metal object
then it turned to rust

Don Patridge didnt enjoy fame and all the stuff that came with it.
he was a busker before his hit records and happily returned to busking.
last i heard busking in Germany

there was a man
up on the hill
head in the clouds
standing quite still
such deep concentration
he was staring out
i wondered to myself
whats that   all about
on closer inspection
i felt such a fool
for that was a statue
up on the hill

there is soooooooooo much stuff being posted lately HOORAY

previous posts.

gone is the wind
gone is the sky
extinguished in
the blink of an eye
gone the way
of memory and light
competing with
the stars of night
passing through
the fractured noise
still unheard that
distant voice

Todays artist is Nick Drake he recorded 3 albums from 1969-1972
none of them sold,he died a few yrs later having had no success.
since then people have come to appreciate his music and hes still selling
today.highly thought of by other musicians.
this is is his most commercial album, the other 2 are just voice and guitar.
what do you think?
