Thanks Daddycool,

I inadvertantly put a full stop at the end of the link to MySpace which prevented it from working and I have now corrected it.

Thanks again,

Hi Craig,

Having listened to this I think it is in normal tuning and an E and A progression with an odd A7 thrown in. The A x02220 (well actually A6 x02222 as he apears to be barring all 4 strings on the second fret but without playing the F# x0222x so it will be A) and A7 x02223. As much of it is picked and not strummed I think that he is not always playing the full chords.

Some one may correct me but that is my opinion.

It has been a while since I posted a song and would not be Valentine's without one from me so here is my offering for this year. A recording is on: www.myspace.com/rogerguppy

Hi Obscure and welcome to Chordie,

To me, the beauty of the original songs in this section is that you do not know the melody. I play the chords and put my own melody to the song as I sing the words. Even when the composer has recorded the song I always play it first and then listen to how different my version is to how the composer intended it - great fun.

Hi DJL,

I just checked and your songbook is there. It is at the top of the list and will remain so until someone else publishes theirs.

This is a perfect example of why resurrecting an old post, or hijacking a recent one is a bad idea.

Crevs resurrected Bubles thread with a related question but has recieved only one answer for his troubles. The other three later answers are directed at the original question, whereas a new new thread would have brought Crevs several replies I am sure.

I would also hazard a guess that at least one of the 3 recent respondents and others that have read this thread thought that I was going off my trolly replying about the chord of D when the original question was about the chord of C as they had not spotted Crevs query. If the did they are wrong - I went of my trolly years ago lol.

So the moral of this tale is that if you have a question start your own topic or risk being ignored.

Hi Bob and welcome to Chordie,

I moved, and then deleted, your duplicate post from the 'Chordie Editors' section as the Editing section has nothing at all to do with finding chords for songs, it is for sorting out the songs already shown on Chordie.

The correct place for a song request is here where you originally posted your request. It may be that no one has got, or has found, what you wanted on the Internet and it must not be easy to find or you would have found it yourself. Please be patient, if anyone finds what you want they will let you know in this thread.

Take care,

Roger

Hi Headcase,

This is just an idea and may be completely wrong but are your guitar straps keeping both guitars at the same height on your body? The change in angle of your grip playing a guitar at a different height could be making your hand ache.

Roger.

Hi Micky,

If you go to Resources and look at the Large Chord Chart, find D9 and click on it you will find 36 different ways of playing D9, hopefully one will suit.

Hi dlance and welcome to Chordie,

If the songs are your own compositions you can post them in the Songwriting section and James's 'Sticky' titled 'How To Post Original Song to Songwiting Forum' at the start of that section explains how to use Chorpro on Chordie.

If however the songs are not yours they will be covered by copyright and you cannot post them on Chordie for legal reasons. Pleae read my 'Sticky' titled 'Posting of Songs' at the start of this section.

Nice song with a happy ending. I hope you soon get to grips with your BR-600 so we can again hear your recordings.

Hi Daddycool,

Nice song but recording to tape and then trying to transfering it is not not a good idea as you will always get a lot of losses and noise that way. You need to record straight to your PC and there is help in Russ's 'Recording section' to get this done.

Take care,

Roger

Hi Jeff,

Memories and reminiscing are wonderful medicine so I enjoyed playing this song. Mind you I did alter 'Me and my dogs...' to 'Me and my cats...' so the song was more apt for me lol.

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Crevs,

Being a player that uses a lot of upstrokes in my rhythm I just had to pick up a guitar to check out your comment. As long as the beat strokes of whatever you are playing are downwards and the upstrokes are a 'fill in' I see, well hear, no problem. Perhaps you are playing the upstroke too loud whereas the empasis should be on the beat (down) stroke.

You mentioned the D chord and I assume you mean the open D (XX0232) which is only played on 4 strings having D as the bass note therefore the upstroke is played on the same 4 strings The notes of the D chord are D, A and F# so playing the E string will give you a different chord and sound odd.

I hope that helps,

Roger

Hi Lou and welcome to Chordie,

The only way that I can think of overcoming this problen is a complete rewrite and putting the chords in bracket within the line of the song, like so:

This [Am]is an [D]example

This [G]is an [Em]example

However the chords are not so readily identifiable this way.

Hi Phill and Russ,

I have recently had (and still have for that matter) one or two problems that have stopped me from being on-line quite so often. Although I have visited Chordie most days I have not been able to post comments, however I am healthy and happy and I getting other matters sorted.

I have no new songs ready yet but my Valentive offering is close to completion.

Thank you for you thoughts,

Roger

I have not been around much lately and so I have not followed this thread but I see I must step in and put things straight.

My position is that I will not allow swearing on any section that I Moderate for the following reasons:

1/ This site is visited by many ladies and children and a gentleman does not swear in front of either.

2/ Although it is forgivable to let let slip a swear word in speech it is not forgivable when written as writing has to be thought about and is therfore done as a deliberate act and intended to offend.

3/ There are far better adjectives in the English language than profanities and invectives.

That being the case this thread has gone on long enough and I am closing it and editing/deleting any bad language.

You could also play B7 as xx4445 which is easier than the x21202 if you have large fingers and narrow spaced strings.

The battery in my Fender lasts about a year and I do not find it a drawback, however for peace of mind I do always carry a spare in my guitar case.
