thanks Helena and Marc the sitar sounds Phill manufactured from his keyboards here is a quote from his post above " I got the sitar sound from my tone generator a Yamaha MU50, and it's played on a Korg K61P. Nice sound? yeah yeah yeah." I asked him if he could find something to sound like a sitar to lend it the India feel thanks for both your comments smile

well in Wisconsin we are used to changing weather we had one day that was 80 degrees but the rest so far have been cool and raining typical for the month of April I wait till the last two weeks in may to plant my tomatoes and  peppers because the threat of a killing frost is always present till late May smile

it could be your amp or the settings and the size of your speakers gauge of strings.where you pick them on the guitar any number of reasons or your bass pickup is faulty or all the above smile

intogitar I have been giving this some thought and I think Old Doll and zguitar may be the best advice for you at this point only because of where you are in your learning I am an advanced player and it would be most difficult for you to follow any video based on advanced tecniques I think it would be better for you to follow zguitar's link so you can better understand these pricipals and you may find another style from Old Dolls link that suits you smile

Russ,

Here's a good video showing the diff between regular strumming and syncopation.

that "tricky" extra sturming is called syncopation which is basic timing 1 2 and ah 1e and ah 2e and ah 1 2 and ah 1e and ah 2e and ah say it out loud and you will get an idea of the syncopation for this song but later when I am not busy with my stuff I can video tape a short tutorial and provide a link smile

I was speaking about the song index at the top of the page I listened to your video your close but there are a few missing beats in the strumming I can make a video and explain what I am doing later today and use my myspace site link just as you did the you tube address smile

if the song is listed in the Chordie index I could make a free instructional video and put it with the song smile

Ou thank you very much! I have tuned my guitar 1/2 down but I don't know whats up with the strumming but I can't take it sad Is it possible to make some video lesson or something?

tuba the pattern you suggest looks like it would end on a down stroke and it feels like it should end on an upstroke to make way for the next dum dums (down stroke pattern) I played along with the video and didn't have any problems perhaps I described it different lol

tubatooter1940 wrote:

Maybe I am incorrect but the rhythm pattern goes:
dum dum tee dum tee dum dum. No big deal!

after watching and more important listening to the video the guitar is tunned a half step lower and he plays an open Am form to G  the bridge go's to C and G the strumming pattern I could pick up was two Downstums and then alternating its syncopated like down down up down up down up down up down down up down up down up down up I could not see his fretboard in the video but I know his guitar is tunned 1/2 step flat to 440 (standard pitch) hope this helps smile

in chopro formating the [ song ] at the beginning turns it on but there is no space between the [brakets] like I have above and it must have [/song] at the end to turn the formating off and to get the name of the song you just do this {t:name of song} notice the different brakets next you enter {st:by your name} and there is no space between the chord and the words like this
[E]the rain in [A]spain lies [D]mainly in the [E]plain but notice there is a space before the next chord just click on the quote and look at it smile
