yes it has been asked a few times the C/G is a slash chord the note to the left of the slash C is the chord the note to the right of the slash G is the lowest note played within the chord so its a C chord with a G root  this can be played as 33210 or GCECE (1st posistion open) smile

All mentioned above is correct. I just would like to add that it helps to know what notes are sharp or flat in a given scale to locate the I IV V ( 1 4 5 ) or any given interval (step) in a scale perhaps a chart of the sharp and flat keys would be helpful smile

This is a hard song to comment on the subject matter war, blood, killing is unpleasant to listen to but then it should be, an introspective look at a man made atrocity that few are responsible for but many pay the ultimate price with there lives that said I think you did a fine job of crafting the lyrics and music send a copy to all the heads of state who dont have to put there lives at risk because if they did I doubt there would be any wars, well done.

Tragic event at the Olympics Georgian luge sledder Nodar Kumaritashivlii was killed during a practice run this coupled with the hundreds of demonstrators tossing garbage and the opening ceremonies glitches and weather(lack of snow) marred the beginning of this event.

Someday is the thief of all dreams, young or old it favors no one it seems
The past and the present will disappear, the future lies waiting the end we all fear
but not yet there's to much living to do, still time for laughing and swilling some brew
time for loving family and friends, live for today because someday it ends.

Thanks Phill smile I don't know how many members would be interested in my arrangement most of the chords I used are basic C Am Dm7 G F and the odd change is a dim form with the root on the 4th string 4th fret I am watching the Super bowl and the Who is playing the halftime show looks like the crowd is enjoying it the Colts are leading at the half 10 to 6 a low scoring game so far chat later my friend and thanks again for giving a listen smile

Yes recording your gig live is a good idea because your more natural sometimes when you record at home it seems even to me you try to be to perfect only because you have the liberty to do it again and correct mistakes but what happens sometimes is you lose the feeling of the song and it has no soul a live recording is what  you normally sound like and a better measuring stick to go by good luck with it smile

njdoxie welcome to Chordie no there really is no "home" position on a guitar but if your starting out its best to learn all the open 1st position chords and tuning is important because many a new players lose interest because they lack the ability to tune there guitar and the chords sound bad even if played right, there is a difference in any note sometimes a note of the same pitch sustains longer if played higher up the fret and knowing the scales makes it easier to play because you can find the notes without having to jump all over the fretboard, notes on a guitar or any instrument have octaves which is part of a musical scales construction but for now I would learn the basic chords and strumming to start and progress at the rate your comfortable with good luck with it smile

hi Tony I gave a listen the guitar and vocals sound fine but the arrangement kind of drags to much time between lyrics without any fills I think its the selection of time you chose 4/4 as opposed to a 2/4 I just think it needs to have more of an up tempo feel like the original this is only my opinion, the drums seemed a little to soft and distant in the mix and the absence of a bass presence in this kind of arrangement was noticed by me hope I'm not being to critical but  I think you would rather hear an honest appraisal smile
