it reminds me of the song "along came Jones" on the breaks "he grabbed her and then" etc.. the chords are diminished moving up the neck I kind of place the diminished chord as a chord that needs resolution like a sus chord or possibly a 7b9 the chords have tension in them ![]()

Hi rcees the + sign means add so a C+5 is a C chord with the 5th (G) added the term "hammer down" means to hold your finger on one note and play another note on the same string with another finger and only pick it once similar to hammer ons (Van Halen eruption solo) you can also hammer down open strings on any fret with out useing a pick hope this helps have a nice holiday season and welcome to Chordie ![]()

Pix the Chords on the video revolve around Bb Eb and the minor is Gm the bridge go's to Eb Bb Eb C F and back to Bb Eb the C is optional in the bridge you can stay in Eb and go to F and back to the verse chords Bb Eb Gm transpose these to whatever key fits your vocal
One of my favorite oldies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1R5TjKw1AE Still can't quite work out the chords/progression though....

yes it is a slash chord I misunderstood all add chords usually are extensions like 1 3 5 9 and the 9 is actually the 2nd only one octave higher as there are only 8 tones in a major scale ![]()

Re: DaddG? (5 replies, posted in Acoustic)
wow lot a theory questions lately welcome to Chordie Meg, a D add G is a open D chord with your little finger adding the G on the 1st string 3rd fret,to keep it easy to understand all major chords are 135 in the key of D the notes are D F# A adding the G on top gives it a "suspended feeling" the note F# is already in the D chord (1st string 2nd fret) but adding it on the bottom as Arkady suggested gives it a nice Tom petty sound hopefully this explanation is not to hard to understand for you but all theory questions usually are if you are unfamiliar with it ![]()

having a soul is not the same as have soul the former is the spirit within everyone, the latter having soul is the ability to feel emotion when singing or performing a song and I believe I have both
Merry Christmas, Russell. Whether you have soul or not is yet to be determined.

Re: F chords (50 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I hate to be a meanie but there is no open F chord unless you change the 1st string (E) and tune it up a semi tone to F and play the chord as xx3210 otherwise you leave it alone and mute it and play the chord as xx321x keep in mind any chord may be voiced several ways depending on the notes in the chord just as a C chord is CEG (135) it could also be GEC (531) or ECG (315) etcetera etcetera ![]()
