Joe,
excellent writing again !!
funny how we all see different lines as " the one" or the hook
I like the line " like a broken toy I just sit on the shelf"
you are a very talented lyricist with terrific insight !

Crazy Arms (Charlie Rich)
Sorry - I had to edit out the lyrics in the forum to comply with copyright agreements for this site. E-mail sent.
- Zurf
click on the other crazy arms it shows the chords although not in chordie magic format. The Ray Price one has nothing there
Hey everyone - Guy Clark sums it up pretty good in this song called " The Guitar "
ok - here is my feeble attempt at playing and singing.
I hope you like the message and it doesn't harm your ears too much

and to everyone that has had to deal with alzheimers in any way.... my heart goes out to you.
Thanks again to "MOJO" JB !
I have a martin custom X series - matte finish acoustic electric. It has a very unique sound - I love it. But I will admit, I love my Alvarez RD-20 SC much better . I said in another post somewhere... I really believe the guitar picks the player, not viceversa - you just know when you've got the right one. ( Probably the reason we all keep buying them ! ![]()
awesome - I'll email you TY
Bensonp,
I just listened to your cover of Daydream by Lovin Spoonful one of my favoite all time songs. You are extremely talented and have a very nice Martin there. I enjoyed the song a lot. Your voice is awesome.... I would love it if you did a rendition of the above song. What do you think ?
Jim
I agree with Phill, this is very well done. Nice voice, nice playing, great changes through the song - but I too found myself locked into the video. I kept thinking three things: 1) wonder what all those people shown are doing now and what would they say to me if they saw their picture ? 2) Am I gonna see someone I recognize ? 3) Whatever ended that hippie culture ? ( my guess is they needed to get jobs eventually)
I really enjoyed watching this - about 5 different times so far.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
First - Everybody should check out Joe's ( MOJO) song - recently posted and re- mastered - it is awesome !
After hearing it and reading the lyrics, I could not get that line out of my head!!
However as it ran around crazy in my brain all morning, suddenly - - an epiphany - a new meaning popped in my head.
I got the metaphoric message that had been bothering me. I wrote some stuff down and it started making sense to me.
HOWEVER, I must point out that within Joe's song there were a couple of terrific lines that I needed to borrow because not only did they fit, they were awesome thoughts from my perspective.
Not wanting to be a (lyric) pirate ( which ironically what his song was like
) I emailed Joe to explain my ideas and asked permission to use his words and adapt some of his thoughts to my theme. He granted me permission, which was ever so kind - Thanks again Joe !!
So anyway - i attempted to use some of Joe's ideas mixed with mine - to write about a terrible disease - Alzheimers !
I know that several Chordians have mentioned it in discussions. I tried to imagine being on the inside looking out. I tried to put a couple of metaphors in myself - but still - Joe's line is the King - to me it describes it perfectly - "The Creek don't run by my cabin no more !"
As you all know - I am not a singer, so it won't appear in audio unless someone else does it for me ( hint, hint
)
So here it is - hope you like it - and again THANKS SO MUCH to MOJO for his inspiration and kindness to allow me to borrow his thoughts.

very nice TF
Looking forward to it in the songwriting section!

Mojo
I like the strum pattern and the way the song flows.
Can you post the lrics and chords ?
Very Nice
JIM
Roger - Great picture. It reminds me of a guitar theme Norman Rockwell painting. Congratulations on the NGD !!
How different is playing a 12 er vs. 6 string ? I have never even seen a 12 in person.
One last thing.... you are right... I think it is much like the wands of Harry Potter, the guitars seem to pick us, not they other way around. There definitely is an unspoken language out there between musicians and guitars.
Anyway - Congrats again - looking forward to hearing a few tunes played on it.
Jim
I made a photostory of my song. Hope you like it. Phill was fabulous, as usual.

This was the song I had posted the lyrics and chords for earlier.
Roger so kindly recorded it for me.
I wrote it for my daughter who's husband - to- be is in military and is being deployed in fall oversees.
Thanks Roger !!!
Hope you like it.
This song was Phill's idea , I helped with the lyrics a bit.
I think he did a masterful job. So much fun collaborating across the water.
Bouncing ideas back and forth was really a very cool experience for me,and as a novice,
I learned a lot from working with Phill.
I put it up on sound cloud - here is the link https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/summer-of-love
Hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did making it.
Jim ( and Phill)
First of all, I must thank Graham for recording a version earlier for me. He sounded so good on his acoustic, i decided to ask Jim Cristaldi, a friend in Nashville, to record it. I think it came out pretty good.

hope you like it.
Phil - yes you got it ! My wife is my love !
Dino - Unlikely, my singing in a video might close the theatre
I actually like hearing other people ( with talent) play my songs.
Curt
I liked Home of the Brave - I agree w Graham...... would like the lyrics of such an important message front the guitar - I think you are right that acoustic would accomplish that. That being said -- excellent man !! I enjoyed it !

As I had posted previously, I had sent Roger's version of the song into Min-Cooper. This was their response:
Thanks for writing MINI.

Per MINI USA policy, however, we can only accept advertising ideas from our current business partners and those directly involved in the design of our vehicles. I apologize for any disappointment that this may cause.
Thank you again for sharing your song with us though, it was very good!

hmmm I am unable to open that link when I click on it
I just submitted the link to Mini Cooper USA
If any of you know other cooper sites, you should send it to them.
This was soooooo cool ! Thanks to all of you who made it happen.
I think we should send a demo to the Mini Cooper company - they might like to make a video of it for a commercial.
