Martin full mahogany 000-15.  While he's at it, a couple LR Baggs Anthem pickups would be nice too.

Merry Christmas Butch.  I hope it's a good one.  And to everyone else, I hope whatever you celebrate is really great.

You are responsible for the number of listens of covers if anyone ever comes calling for that money.  It's in their terms and conditions.

Good on you.  Build something worth building.

Merry Christmas to you, Bushy.

It would be cool to know who each of those are.  Roger had asked to hear me, so I sent him a few songs.  I guess he liked my version of Jim Croce's Age the best and put that on there.  Thanks Roger.  That's a pretty neat tool.   And yeah, that ugly mug next to it is mine.  He stole it from my Facebook account.  Very resourceful.  I rather like that picture.  It was taken at the peak of a short but rather tough hike I took with a dear friend.

You can.  Check your e-mail.

You're welcome, in all contexts of the term.

I don't mind B alternates or cheats.  Just B.  B7 is great.  Bm is lovely.  Bm7b5#13/G causes me no concern whatever.  They are all meager wraiths of the evil B.

That's all I'm looking for Jerome.

Holy moley.  $.085 per copy for license fees for each cover song and no idea how many copies there will be.  Forget it.  I'm not going to pay random people to hear songs I've knocked out in my basement.  No stinking way.

Any other options for sharing music?

OK.  But it won't be disco.

It's passion.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Did you get the new lap steel yet?  Pictures are mandatory (though I failed to comply with that when I bought my own last year).  I'm eager to hear how you're enjoying it.  Are you going to go old style Country or try something crazy like lap steel version of Hawaiian slack key?  I've got a slide and have been thinking of tuning Ol' Reliable to open A for some blues, but I'm still learning scales and arpeggios in regular tuning.

I think Gloria Gaynor is a bit out of my vocal range.  I'd be eager to hear Mekidsmom take a whack at it, though.

I have been recording some songs to hear where I need to work on them.  I've been meaning to get a Soundclick site set up so that I can post them for you guys to provide constructive criticism over on the My Band page, but I haven't got around to it yet.

So far I've recorded "Ain't No Sunshine", "L.A. County", "Working Class Hero", "Trouble" (Cat Stevens, not Ray Lamontegne) and maybe another one or two.  I did "Age" for Mekidsmom and Jets60 to send me some comments a while back.  That was picked for Mekidsmom's Dad as he is a Jim Croce fan like me.

Miles Davis had this to say about it:  First we spend time and effort learning our instruments.  Next we spend time and effort learning about music.  Finally, it's just play baby, play.

LOVE IT!!!

Thank you!!  Very funny.  I'm going to show this to my funny little honey.

LOL.  Two thumbs up for that one!

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

I've started a monthly jam session that has been an awful lot of fun.

Cool.  That ought to do it.  If it doesn't, feel free to send me all of your Martins and Gibsons.  I'll be gentle with them.

Just put on some Chicago Blues and try to keep up.  You'll be fine.

Debra - They weren't stealing to have, they were stealing to sell.  Acoustic guitars do not sell quickly.  They can hock an electric lickety-split.  No matter the reason, it stinks that your house was broken into.

didn't you say recently that you've taken a liking to the B chord? Or found one that you could play or something like that?

Just because I can occasionally get one out doesn't mean they aren't evil.

It is always difficult to have what we think we know about something challenged.  If one puts his/her faith in the Bible, for example, and has taken their own personal understanding and presumption of the meaning of a passage as the Earth is at the center of all things and that is challenged, it's difficult for some (especially middle-ages Popes) to think, "Hmmmm.  Well if the Bible is right, and if the science is right, maybe my understanding is wrong."  The so-called battle between science and faith is in truth a personal battle against ego.  The humble have no difficulty with admitting the possibility that they made an error.

Yeah she will!  She's already a talented piano player.  Her husband is a pianist and guitar player.  Both of them sing.  My other sister plays guitar, mountain dulcimer, and banjo.  We all diddle around with harmonicas.  My dad sings with my piano playing sister as members of a cantata.  We had been planning to attend a "first night" event on December 31st together.  This is an event where the town has a bunch of areas open (town or county building conference rooms, courtrooms, some private business venues like the movie theater and such) and there are music, comedy, puppetry, and other sorts of performance art.  Unfortunately, the financing for it didn't come together in time and so that event was canceled.  We are now planning to put on one of our own in my basement!  The kids are practicing skits and puppets.  My one sister and I will likely do a few old country songs we enjoy playing when she visits.  My other sister and her husband will likely do a few tunes.  My brother-in-law and I did an ad lib set at my Dad's birthday in September and had a blast improvising from chord charts, so we'll likely do 1/2 dozen tunes or so.  It should be absolutely epic and really, really loud.
