That is sweet !
This is a guitar I made out of wood scraps in my shop. I didn't really know what I was doing having never made a guitar before - but it came out pretty good. The fret height was toughest for me. Plays fair - would be fine if I filed frets more even.
It was fun to learn about how the electrics are wired and how the guitar works though. There's a lot of stuff that I had no idea about.
Anyway... can't wait to see your completed strat re-do.
JIM

I fixed the image tags for you check it so you can do it in he future
Phill
Both are frigidlly cool !! I really like the bluesy Motel song-- been there done that. (I've done the sped ticket too) You are so talented - love listening to your music /
JK
My daughter and I sang this as a duet ( well she sang and I tried to sing ) alternating lines in some of the verses. She thought it would be a great song for a wedding, it did sound pretty cool doing it that way, except for my voice of course). I wish I could sing so you could hear it .
lol
I made a few changes to lyrics - I wrote it because I was so angry at the LA Clippers owner for his blatant racism- what an idiot ! No room for that anywhere in our society.

I like like it a lot , even though " besotted" is $50 word that I had to look up. I guess I would be stuck with obsessed or infatuated with if I was writing it - but now i am a bit smarter thanks to you
Can't wait to hear it.
The verse
"And I can say with utmost certainty.
She will make you want her constantly. " reminds of the guitar you wanted for so long - and then when you got it in you hands the feeling wasn't there.
Good work my friend
Jim
Phill
Should have bought it, you can never have enough guitars !
Jim
PS
I have a shirt that says " go on....buy it..... you can always get another wife " LOL
Russ,
That might be the cause of global warming in Wisconsin !!! THAT WAS HOT!! I really enjoyed it, your playing is way gone - I'm soooo jealous. Great performance
Jim
Thanks Phill,
I agree with what Dave pointed out as well - same perspective I have with my wife. :0 )
The Bm is really hard for me to play, but ibecause it sounded right - I couldn't avoid it.
There are so many talented musicians on Chordie - and everyone is so positive --- whoever came up with this idea should be commended ! The camaraderie among the members is amazing !
Amy,
After listening to it - I was so impressed. You have a GREAT VOICE ! It took me a couple of " listens" to figure out that you put the word cruise in ( rhymes with Blues) - I could picture you going through the night writing this --- it has that once in a lifetime sound - I'm sure you didn't want to let it go and try to re-create it in the morning ! It is just excellent!
It has such an "Island flow" and the way you bring the lyrics to life - it makes me want to go to my favorite spot on Earth right now - the beach ! ( Topsail, NC is my heartland of beaches) I think I am closer now to how you play it - but you are so much better. You are truly blessed with vocal and instrumental talent.
Jim
Wrote this from perspective of a young man ready to get married to the love of his life. Hope you like it.

JIM
From one New Yorker to another --- very cool I 'm not sure I'm playing it like you - but it sounds nice and I like the words a lot. Way to go !
Jim
Phil

KAP - That was a very nice song ! I enjoyed the guitar playing - the story is very Special. I have an affinity for being a cowboy - so it hit home. I thought you sound was very heartfelt- like you were really the subject of the song. I also liked how you did the video - blending pics with you performing - that was awesome! Thanks for the peak, keep sending them out !

I listened to it on your myspace website - sounds very nice... captured the emotion of the moment I think ..... quite sad
I did have that thought from the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza says - " it's not you it's me" pop into my head though, and it made me smile in the middle of this sad song.
Well done though. It is funny how things pop into your head for songs....... showers, riding in car, walking with the dog --- they just seem to come out anywhere they choose.
anyway - thanks for a nice song Phill
JK
Russell - I loved the song - especially the passion that emerged as you sang it. Well done !!
ALL I CAN SAY IS - PHILL WILLIAMS IS DA' MAN !!
He is a fantastic musician, and took the time to help a fellow " Chordie guy" get some music done, and done well !
If anybody on this site has something you need help with -Phill is definitely a tremendous resource.
Thank You Phill !
thanks Phill I use the low E as the base play the first verse soft - then play full chords and harder on next two stanzas - then soft again --- finish up hard on last stanza... I like it cuz it has a driving rhtyhm I wish I was a singer ----- but to embarrassed to sing except to my self and my dogs
some lyric change and title change
Nice Artie - Ya can't ever go wrong with Cowboy messages ! Glad you put in about waltz time - I was having tough time with regular 4/4 Thanks for the cool song! Jim
