Yes.  H1N1 = Swine Flue.  Apparently the pigs complained about the name and it was changed in the U.S.

LOL.  Yeah, it seems no one likes their name dragged through the mud these days.

I checked them out.  Maybe we can keep this thread going to see which of us gets it this winter.  Or who doesn't get it.  Good luck, all.  Wash your hands a lot.

Try this.

I find that most things are usually nicer when you get them home for some reason.  I'm glad you're happy.  Play on and enjoy

Hope you are OK, NELA.  I take aspirin every day now to ward off the heart problems.  I am sure it works.  Good luck to you.

I'm always leary about coming right out and telling people that I play guitar, too.  It's as if I tell them then I think I have to be better than I really am.  I'm really not that bad, but still..........

According to my guage, outside humidity is 5% and inside 22%.  Pretty dry.  I might check into a room humidifier.

So, acclamation is only a temporary thing.  Oh well.  I really am happy with the outcome.  It appears that as long as I keep humidifying, the crack will remain closed.  I just like to keep my guitars out of the case for quick playing, but I have to keep the Martin in the case apparently.  I did get a dampit humidifier with a plastic hole cover, so I assume I can keep it out of the case with that installed.  I'll try that and watch the crack closely.

Yes, American doctors are worshipping the almighty dollar.  This is evidenced by the fact that all doctors offices are overbooked, so you rarely get in at your appointed time.  No patients, no money, so they book extra patients daily just in case someone doesn't show or they diagnose, or appease the patient and send them on their way quicker. Next!  And medical costs are sky high, even with insurance, or because of insurance.

I bought my Martin Custom D about six months ago and about two months later noticed a very fine crack in the back.  I bought a humidifier and the crack went away in about a month.  I was talking to a local guitar store owner yesterday and he told me that wood will acclimate if you ween it off the humidifier slowly.  Does anyone have any knowledge of this?  I would like to think this is true.  It makes sense, but I'm just not sure.

Yes, upyerkilt, I have been known to use the one "I just play enough to amuse myself."

Yes, try doing what Zurg suggested.  I think that is a wonderful way to learn.  Then you don't get stuck on the same old stuff.  I try to do this, but like everyone, I stray from the practice.  I play a few songs, then do a few scales and I always practice on Classical Gas, which is very hard for me.

I do the same.  I often learn the first portion and never get to the middle or end of the song.  We have to do something about that.  I usually go back much later and learn the whole song if I really like it.

I also had this album in my collection way back when.  Good job.

Richie Havens did the first set, but only because the other bands were late in getting there.  Iwas 17 and had just moved from Maine to Oregon that summer.

Pick it up and play some C&W sad tunes.  George Jones or something.  That'll pick you up.  Or put you down further.  If you're not playing it, you're thinking about playing it.  That's what the legends do, you know.

I never heard that one by her, Kap.  Thanks, lots of feeling in it.  That's what I like.  Exactly what I'm looking for.  I almost forgot about that song.  Thanks again.

I couldn't find Hold On by Kieran, but I found it by Jim Wright band, or something like that.  Same song?
