Todd Snider Fan here Zurf, he actually played at "Goose on the Lake" last year  a concert that Goose Creek Symphony puts on every year on a private farm, no police no politics, nothing but just friends and good music, some of the best music around the campfires at night.

I have 3 guitars, one martin A/E, an epi electric, and a cheap Ibanez acoustic  that I bought from a pawn shop, 85% of the time I just bang around on my Ibanez, it sounds great to me, a set of new strings and a little neck adjustment and boom! It being the first one I learned on it has sentimental value as well. I love it and never want to part with it.

Both, but then so am I. Think it has to do with the number of post 100 makes you a senior member.

Nevets,

Sorry to have went negative, just having a bad day today. As I said earlier if " whoever" inspires you then that in itself is great. I really do believe in positive thoughts and it's not like me to be so negative, but again just had a bad day, my apoligies to you Sir.

No Disrespect to the orignal poster, to each his own, but I agree with Russell, I don't see greatness. I think Benson hit it on the nail in another post once, It's a generational thing, what I see as great is not what you might see as great. Since coming to Chordie I have found people like Tommy Emanuel, and Andy Mckee, now in my opinion those guys are great. I love rock and country, blues and different types of music and thats mostly what I listen to, but with out Chordie I would have never heard of these two guys. Again however no disrepect to the orignal poster of this thread and his idea of greatness, though I'm glad he inspires you to keep playing, so in the sense if it works for you then I'll concede it's great. Sorry, guess I'm just in a mood today.

My Wife and I had a chance to stay 11 days at Myrtle Beach this summer, it was great because it's been a few years since we'd been, took one of my guitars played out on the balcony, had a few drinks, met lots of new people soaked up the sun and had a great time.

I completely agree with Benson , it's a generational thing, personally I wouldn't walk across the street to see metallica for free with a back stage pass, but if it were Led Zepplin, I'd wait in line in the parking lot for tickets"which I have done in my younger days. I know I'll catch a lot of flack for this, but They don't make rock and roll anymore, they have only genric forms of it, heavy metal, pop rock, glam rock, I could go on but unlike Billy Joel It's not rock and roll to me. I'm sorry I don't mean to rile anyone up, but they just don't have bands like The Stones in thier heyday or Zepplin anymore, in my honest opinion, rock and roll did die, my apology's to Neal Young

Hi Dirty ED,

Gotta love that name, I have a cousin called Fast Eddie, we both love going to the river, fishing, having a few drinks, talking junk and seeing who can tell the best "exgerated true lies" and we love our music, sounds like good times with you and Zurf, so tell us, did Zurf have to slip in a B chord anywhere? Welcome to the Chordie site and please share your stories and insight.

Old Doll,

Here in the Southeast of the US it get's pretty humid, so it can seem hotter than it actually is. I guess it's what you get use to but I love hot weather or at least warm weather, I'm not much on cold weather, I tend to hibernate during the winter.

Cam

I've always noticed that it's a little slower on weekends, but I'm guessing some of the others are right about doing other things with it being summer and with school out...Old Doll, is it really 22 degrees there? We've had 90+ degree's here seems like all summer.

I thought this was a pretty unique way of saying "I quit"

If you can ever get your hands on an old album called "Hooker n Heat" you'll love it, it's John Lee Hooker and Canned Heat together, a classic among classic's

Hi Everyone,

I found this great new site, at least new to me, it called Woodsongs Old time Radio Hour. Now it's actually a radio format, but some of the artists there have video, during the broadcast you have to sometimes wait for them to actually be announced, so be patient.Click on archives and scroll down the list of artists to find who you like, then click windows media player. As some of you know I'm a fan of a band called Goose Creek Symphony, I implore you to scroll down to their name and click the Windows media player or what ever you have to watch. Find the person or band you like then look to the right and click the windows media player. The host of the show is a guy named Micheal Johnathon. Now if your not interested in Goose creek there is a long list of other artists, it's reall a great site, I hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think.

Congratulations Zurf,

I'm sure you'll do a great job, but you'll have to figure out what you'll do with the pay raise from becoming Moderator, but again congratulations!

Hi Everyone,

I just noticed for the first time that I'm a senior Member, others are members, and Honored Members. I was just wondering when this started and what the criteria was for each.

The other day I was in my building out behind my home cleaning it up, actually just straighting things up some. All of a sudden I heard a noise, looked around and saw a mouse scurring behind some chairs I had in there, so I thought, ok I'll get something for you. So off I go to the dollar store, I go in and ask the lady if they had any decon "mouse poision" anyway, she said no but that she had some walnuts. Now I'm standing there, trying to keep an open mind, thinking maybe she knew a trick with the walnuts that might somehow help me with the mouse. We go walking down the aisle to where she showed me the bag of walnuts, again trying to keep an open mind and thinking that maybe somehow all these years that maybe I had somehow missed or never heard of using walnuts to catch a mouse. I'm standing there waiting for her to tell me her trick, she said nothing, so finally I looked at her puzzled and ask her, what am I supposed to do with these, she looked at me kinda puzzled and shrugged her shoulders, I'm still waiting for the explanation on how to catch the mouse with walnuts. I then told her if I use these it's just gonna draw more "mice" to my building, again, she said nothing, I'm still standing there thinking what am I suppose to do with these walnuts and still thinking if I throw walnuts in there it will just draw more. Finally we both started to walk away from the walnuts back towards the front when it hit me, when I ask her for "Decon" I realized she thought I said "pecans" and thats why she said no but we have walnuts, I started laughing so hard I started crying when I realized where we were missing each other, I couldn't stop laughing, I tried to explain why I was laughing so hard so she wouldn't think I was rude or making fun of her, but needless to say I don't think she found it quiet as funny as I did, but she never said an ugly word to me through it all, I guess she couldn't with me being the customer, I told her I was sorry for laughing but it was so funny, at least to me, but she held her composure and said nothing. Anyway I just thought I'd share this story with you all, maybe it was one of those things where you had to be there but I hadn't laughed that hard in a long long time.
