Hi jerryratpack,

Interesting point you have raised here so I have checked with my favourite chord finder chart at: http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php

According to it the chord listed as Gmaj7 xx2345 is not a chord at all and as you say the reverse xx5432 (which is easier to play) is in fact Gmaj7. Also the three other alternative fingerings I gave in the other Gmaj7 thread are correct.

Perhaps the more technically minded members will pick this up and add their comments and if the listed fingering is incorrect I am sure that Per will amend it.

Thank you,

Roger

Hi Evsynator,

Many of the regular contributors to the Songwriting section have MySpace and/or YouTube sites for their music and clicking on the 'Website' to left of the messgae will take you there.

If you click on mine however it will take you to 'Friends of Chordie' a MySpace that I run exclusively for Chordie members who have no site to use or want to put a song there for any reason. I do have my own MySpace and YouTube sites and I will list them below and hope that James, Jeff, Ken and everyone else will add theirs too.

Hi Boab,

If Oldsoulman wants the chords and lyrics for this song, as he indicated in your last posting about this song, you will have to get in touch by private e-mail. If they were obtained from the Internet, posting a link to the source on here is fine.

Hi evsynator,

Seeing as the last song I wrote, recorded and posted on Chordie used a Gmaj7 and sus chords I will asume that this is directed at me and get all hurt, upset and go and spit my dummy out!! lol joking!!

Seriously Gmaj7 is not that difficult to play although the first one listed in the chord chart (xx2345) is difficult click on the chord and you will be shown the alternatives. I use 220002 which I find the easiest but there is also 220032 and 220033.

There are times when you you need to use the maj7, sus and dim chords to get the sound that you are looking for. I tend to look on it as a challenge to learn a new chord.

Take care,

Roger

I have deleted two inappropriate posts and I am closing this thread.

I will not allow this site to degenerate into a racist slanging match.

Hey etc,

Its a bit unfair to ask folks to name their guitars when you have not done so yourself lol. So spill the beans what have you called yours?

Hi IamSunny,

You are right in thinking that the number shown on the left hand side of the chord is the fret that it is played on. If you look you will see that they are generally the barre chords.

Although I sympathise with you Ark on the loss of your archer, I think that Per has done the right thing here and prevented the porn merchants from posting lurid, graphic photos on the site. Hopefully not too many have seen them as we have tried to be vigilant in eliminating the filth.

Also from a purely personal point of view I have to say that whilst yours was quite inobtrusive and amusing, some of the pictures used by some members took over the whole page and as I normally come here 3 times a day and look at every post it gets very tedious seeing the same thing covering the entire PC screen time and time again when I am really interested in what has been written.

Whilst I do like to see what new guitar or equipment someone has got, a link to it is just as easy to add to the post and often is better as the spec is given too.

There is merit in your suggestion Jerome, for preventing pornographic images although I am unsure whether it would be possible to do but for my own part and for reasons stated I can do without them.

So as Jeff has already stated no imaged either moving or stationary allowed apart from the avatars.

Thanks, Jeff, Ken and Ark,

I have not given him a preview before posting it. I wrote and recorded it yesterday and did not get it uploaded until late so I sent him an e-mail directing him to it. It will be a surprise, a pleasant one I hope, but if not I can always delete it.

Hi lil,

I altered it for you and as you have now read the e-mail I sent you when I did it, you know the reason why. It was in your best interest.

And yes Administrators can alter your messages without leaving a tell-tale message that it has been done.

Take care,

Thank you Alex,

I missed this posting earlier and although am pleased, I am somewhat embarrassed to be singled out as I do no more than many of the other Administrators and Member of this site. There are many friends on Chordie, some have been here a while and others not so long, who are willing to give their time and pass on their knowledge to help and guide. It is this willingness to help, honestly and fairly, that make Chordie the great site that it is.

Hi Kath,

You have been through a very rough time, I am sure you have now turned the corner and are on the right track. Just wait and see, 2008 will be a far better year for you.

Hi Dragynn,

Welcome to Chordie  and sorry about the deletion of most of your post.

You are unable to transpose this song through Chordis as it has not been listed here in a legal mannner. The only way I know that you can transpose this song is to do it manually yourself and as there are not too many chords in it it should not be very difficult.

However, if you are unable to transpose it yourself please send it to me privately stating what key you wish it to be in and I will transpose it for you and return it.

Roger

I have removed the lyrics posted here.

Forgive my ignorance. I have seen mention if silk and steel strings before and although I know that silk is a strong thread gathered from the cocoon of the silkworm I would not have thought it either strong or durable enough for use in the making of guitar strings.

Can someone enlighten me please?
