Cool. Great looking guitar. I always think "electric" when I think Cort. I don't know why acoustics don't come to mind with a guitar like that.

Finger strength and dexterity exercises.

Kris Kristofferson wrote a song titled "Let's all get together and steal each others songs" to describe what happened when he and a bunch of the other Country guys did. Willy playing Johnny songs, Johnny playing Waylon songs, Waylon playing Willy songs, and everybody playing Kris songs.

Niiiice. Happy NGD. Now go play it.

I expect you're right. There's a lot of talent out there tucked away in studios and bar-rooms.

Some time ago I tried an online jam with Doug and Russ but the time delay made it impossible. I hope that it i better now.
Roger
Were you playing simulataneously or taking turns? Sometimes at jams, we take turns. One plays a song, then the next, etc. The price of hearing the other guys terrific songs is having to play one of your own when the circle comes around to you. That could probably be done on-line. Unless it was chopped up too much in the transmission.

If you figure it out, I'm in.

I don't want to play music. I need to. For years I didn't, and it ached. Eventually, I just had to do it again else I'd have gone crazy.
Zurf, you are funny. LOL.
Thanks, but I wasn't trying to be. That's what I really do.
No, but if you find out come back and tell us. That would be great. Usually I just print mine out and stick them in a folder to see them off line. Not very high tech though.
Yes on Silk and Steel, but I prefer D'Addarrio brand to Martin. They're very warm and LOUD.

Geez. Sounds like it would be worth the trip.

Terrific! Glad you all had a good time and kept yourselves safe with the sleeping bags and taxis. Happy birthday to Mrs. Badeye (or is she the good eye?).

I ride a 1976 Yamaha RD400 mortorcycle every time I get a chance.
That's nearly identical to the Kawasaki I used to ride. I haven't ridden since being a teenager, but still miss it.

Piddled around tinkering on my 1 person fishing raft today. I gave up tinkering on cars when I had to buy a computer to talk to it first.
Welcome to Chordie. I'm not sure how that works Roy, but I'll move your post up to "About Chordie" where one of the mods will almost certainly be able to help you out.

It isa shame when you have a wife that will not tolerate your playing, you could be doing alot of other things that are not good for you with your spare time
Amen.
I suppose I'll get over the disappointment some day.
Happy NGD. My sister has an Epiphone dreadnaught that has me envious. When she's been down on her luck, I've bought it from her twice, but always found excuses to give it back to her. Some day I'd like to own it again and not give it back to her.
Nothing wrong with it.
Epiphone is the lower line brand for Gibson. They make good guitars.

Take a song that you are comfortable singing. Take a look at the chords of that song and figure out what key it is (if you have trouble with that, I'm sure another post in the theory section or back here in acoustic would get you the answer). Then you know you can sing in that key at least.
What annoys me is that not all songs in the same key work. For instance, I always, always, always have trouble getting my voice to start off right in "Forever and Ever Amen" in D. But I have no trouble whatsoever singing Early Morning Rain in D. Other songs, A is easy as pie, but if I try to take another song to A it's awful.
So, do what you can, but don't worry too much. A lot of us are having the same trouble and still having fun.
I tried some Gorilla Snot (a real product name). It seems to be working. I'm still going to put in a pickup. I just need to wait a little while. Some paddling and fishing stuff had to be ordered and money is running low. Need a little more savings to be able to put in the quality of gear that I want.

Those are good guitars. Very good for beginners too in that the 15/16 size makes for a low action and not as much of a stretch at the frets near the nut.
Welcome to chrisshea.
It's beautiful. Happy NUD.
It doesn't have to be just 'would-be' players to whom you give Martin guitars. Just saying... Campfire picking river rats need love too.
