Nice lyrics to this one Jim. I like this one very much. I couldn't find the original that you're talking about so couldnt compare the changes. Are you going to perform it for us to hear?

Well done Peatle, most of those BIG words I have never heard of
I think people make up words too, just need to look at the new words evolving these days from text messages, it can be a whole new lingo.
Big words, long words,
good words, curse words.
Shouting words, gentle words,
nice words, hurtful words.
Understandable words, indistinguishable words,
foreign words, jargon words.
Hopeful words, joyful words,
negative words, sad words.
Lost in words, forget your words,
memorable words, forgettable words.
Words unite us or words divide us,
words drive us or words stop us.
Words upset us, words encourage us,
words direct us, words connect us.

This video is one of the gigs I did at Wanneroo Folk club, and starts with "Light my Fire" - which has the words "funeral pyre" in the second verse:

Good to hear the audience joining in with you in your first song Richard. Always satisfying when the crowd does that, makes it all worthwhile. Nice to hear your originals too. That last song you definitely were getting into it, well done

Re: Looking For Any Suggestions (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Hi Peatle, I was going to suggest maybe using a slide but then I see Phill already suggested that. The only other thing apart from finger exercises would be trying some of the herbal products for arthritis. Doterra is the best in my opinion, though expensive because they are 100% pure and natural. A lot of the herbal stuff off the shelf these days, even from pharmacies, though herbal have synthetic stuff mixed in with them but doterra is completely natural and sourced from countries all over the world. I love their products. If you want to know more about their herbal products, flick me an email and I will dig out my book and see what they suggest for arthritis.

neophytte, nice little switch with the lyrics in that line in this song. It actually works better I thought swopping that line out (I went back and checked the original version). Well done, the song as I said previously on the original version suits you and works well. Nice one.

Re: August 2023 FSOTM: Ticket, Memory, Water, Winter, Wine, Picture (42 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
Peatle, there were so many lines in that song I liked and appreciated. I thought as I listened and read the lyrics, WOW! Simple words, simple meaning, from the heart to his lady. I actually re-read the lyrics, loved it! Also, Peatle aside to the actual song and lyrics, I want to congratulate you on how you not only write songs and perform them, but how you take the time and effort to put it all together with pictures.
neophytte, thats actually quite a hard song to sing, I know as I have tried to sing it in the past. It sounds a simple song but it's harder than you think because of how the song drops quite low in places. I think you did a good job overall but in places in the song, maybe the chords a bit too low for your vocals. I would be interested to hear you do this song in a different key for those low notes. Otherwise, you sang it well and of course played it well on guitar. Nice job.
neophytte, i enjoyed watching and listening to that one with Al on the autoharp. Great to see you jamming with a fellow musician and what a smiling man Al is, obviously enjoying playing and singing this one with you. I actually have a autoharp that my father gave me. I have fiddled with it and can play it but I need to learn to play it without looking at the keys lol. Thanks for sharing that one.
Grah1, good performance, vocals good on this one, it suited your style. Lots of rain by the looks too.
easybeat, that one was good, bounced along nicely, foot tapping, guitar awesome as always.
TIGLJK, you did it again, all the words! Great song you have written again, you really do have a talent for writing songs. I wish I was so good with words.

Thanks Peatle, good to be back
Just had a listen to your entry for this month. Wow, not only did you write a song, perform it and put it to a video, you had some good lyrics in there that were great. Loved the line "Oh the bank manager loves you when its right"...... such a good line!
Fantastic to see you back writing and performing Peatle ![]()
Shahrozking789 wow that was very clever. Not only did you include every word, but you included members from here in that entry, pretty darn clever and it seems we have another TIGLJK in our midst with that one. Awesome entry, welcome to Chordie and FSOTM. Love to hear you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about yourself
