Congratulations on your new arrival. I do not understand why makers don't set up guitars before despatching them? I hope you have many happy hours of disturbing the neibours as acoustic bass guitars are LOUD! Enjoy.

hI Jeff.

A hell of a cross section, blues format with a bit of rock & roll mixed into a country song? loved the hook "takes a lot to love a good woman but nothing to let her go" great piece of writing.

Just thought, the Shadows did an instrumental back in the sixties called Hats off to Larry...

Just saw Larry's latest pic, he's put on quite a bit of wait. Has to be all the rats at no 10.

Pedr, saddened to hear of your friends unfortunate and untimely passing. I'm sure they will live on in your memory.

Hi Jim, just waiting for the new month and deciding if the full works or the bare bones recording would be more acceptable?

Thanks Richard, I never thought of thunder fx just rain...we get plenty of that!

Thanks Jan. It's your invite and request for song to do with water got the juices flowing. Strange how it works sometimes?

Titled "Rain" probably the simplest song I've written in months. Not on soundcloud yet, I will inform when it's live.

Rain.Undefined

INTRO[C-G-Am-F]

[C] Rain. Running like a [C] waterfall.

[D] Tears of the [G7] angels.

Saddened by the [C] wicked wind.

[C] Floods.Flowing through my [C] broken heart.

[D] Water running [G7] cold.

Running through my [C] veins.

(CHORUS)

[Fm] And every time I [Am] call your name.

[Dm] The clouds grow darker [G7] overhead.

And then they start to [C] rain.

[C] Rivers. Flowing down my [C] window pane.

[D] Like tears on my [G7] face.

Drying in the [C] wind.

(REPEAT CHORUS)

(RIFF PLAYED UNDER)

Rain, rain. Go away.

If you must come another day.

Take the clouds and leave the sun.

All the kids can have their fun.

I don't know who said it but it's true...youth is wasted on the young. It'll be 42 years Ann and I have been together in May next year and that time has flown but I echo your sentiments, I can't imagine going on without her and she tells me the same. As we're both in our 70s now it's unlikely that either of us would actively look for a replacement. We argue but making up is just as good as it's always been. As I always say...if you don't have bad times how do you know when you're having good times?
I haven't listened to the recording yet but your words have great meaning for me. Brilliant

A nice piece of political/feline satire my good friend. The sane people of the UK are praying that number five isn't number three re_packaged!

hi Jan. for some reason the theme of rain/water has inspired me and i've began writing a song which i hope to finish for next month. if i forget please remind me

Thanks Pedr. That won't be too difficult as I seem to have deleted it anyway.

Another great performance Graham. Shame about all the noise the punters are making. I wish I'd been able to video some of my live shows while I was still performing. The last show I did about a month ago I injured my left foot somehow and I could hardly walk for quite a while. I then had chest problems and to cap it all...crowned myself in Tesco, blood the full works. So it seems I've entered stage retirement at age 71. But I'm not selling my gear yet...you never know what's around the corner?

Nice set Grah. Am I imagining it or have you got an obsession with supermarkets?

Thanks Jan, it took me quite a while to write, record then post it but it's a song about people's eccentricities which is why it got posted.

Thanks Grah. Yes it's the only double tracking on this song. It's funny sometimes I can do it other times I can't! I was thinking of adding strings but I'll probably leave it as is.

Pedr, you swine! You made me go back to the smell of new mown grass. The sound of tree branches and leaves in the wind as you sit in the tree tops. The smell of oil and unleaded petrol in a service station. Melting tar on a hot summers day. The shimmer of the sea as seen from the hill top on my way to the beach on a hot summers day, we sometimes get two hot sunny days! The sound of a quiet conversation in the doctors waiting room. And my favourite; bacon frying on the griddle while the scent of toothpaste still hangs in the air.
How I long for those innocent days of the nineteen fifties and sixties when you had to wait two weeks for your pictures from your brownie camera to be developed...well maybe not for that, or grainy black and white TV that finished at 9.30! Having to get up at 8 o'clock on a freezing cold morning to walk the long mile to school. Apart from that you poem is really good.

Lord Brian. I believe you...millions wouldn't. LOL

Extinction of the dinosaurs oh what a lucky day.
Mankind and marsupials might not be here today.
Yet look to the sky, dinosaurs fly, they have not gone away.
I wish some had, while I wash my car, it's warfare, every day.
Some birds are a nuisance just like Messerschmitts.
They drop their bombs that stink of fish.
Seagulls with bad tummies?
It seems they have....diarrhorea.

Oh, Jim. I meant to say after your well hidden hint; I've noticed that since the last one I did for you people now seem to be lining up to record your songs and doing a better job than me. I've also been busy recording backing tracks for a mate of mine so my time has been a little limited of late. Lets see if I get the  muse on the next one?

It's great that people discover something in the words of a song for themselves. It turns out that Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't mean what I thought it did, but that's another story.
Because there are two conflicting story lines in my song, I realised that it's actually a duet with both parties making their point. Or a card game or board game where you'd lure your opponent into a trap?
Maybe the song sheet would help? When I get around to typing it onto my PC, I will post it.
