smile  Also - our Admin has stated that there should NOT be any advertisement pop-ups that are coming from Chordie.  It's entirely possible that this has not been configured properly from the location where the ads are coming from.  So, if you are getting pop-up advertisements that start when you visit chordie.com, please contact admin@chordie.com with as much information as possible so that he can try to track down the source and stop these for others that do not have pop up advertising blocked.

A screenshot and the URL of the advertisement would be very helpful!

Actually, it's easier than that!  Edge, Chrome, and Mozilla all have a built in "block pop ups" feature.

On edge, click the three dots in the upper right hand corner, then click on settings, scroll down and click on advanced settings, and click the switch next to Block Pop Ups!  smile  It will then turn blue, and under the title show "on".  Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

If you're using Chrome or Mozilla and need help finding how to do this, let me know!  smile  It woks great in all browsers, and nothing extra to install!

Ok, so you can get to the individual songbook when adding a song to it from a song page... BUT... cannot open up the main songbook page to choose to view different books or create a new book.  Yeah, send me the information about your browser on the home computer and I'll see if there's something that jumps out at me as a likely cause.  It sounds like an issue related to cookies and/or java.  Once I see what you're working with, then I can give you some ideas of what to look for and do next!  smile

WARNING - the song that MIGHT play right AFTER one of those links (if auto play is on for you),  is NOT suitable for children - I didn't link to it, but ... it did come up after the last one.  YAY for headphones.  wink Watch out for the "R" rated song.

Today, I bring you Rob Schneider's daughter.  One of her songs has made it to the charts this past year, and it's the first time I heard of her, but she's got a bunch of quirky songs and has been singing and playing for a while. Most of her songs paint a picture of feelings, talking about the uglier side of life from the point of view of someone who's not interested in being hurt any more, they're pretty rough, bringing out that mean angry side.  Hurt, angry, protected, woman, what that gravelly edge.  I bring you Elle King!

Elle King-Good To Be A Man - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFqZTcP9Yck
Elle King - I Told You I Was Mean - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNCmbg1Suac

And of course, the song that has become quite famous over the past year or so... this is one of my favorite versions of her playing it acoustic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHCagjfXTIQ

I'm not sure about it being a firewall - although that's CERTAINLY possible.  If the problem is on a WORK or other network, they may very well have a firewall set up to block java from running scripts even if you install it and try to enable it on the computer itself.

If it's at home, then this is probably more likely a setting with how your browser handles the cookies - or the Java - the browser on one computer may be set up to be more secure (my kids sign in to accounts with heavy parental controls -they'd never be able to utilize Chordie the way I can just because of the settings I have on their accounts and therefore the browsers they are using).

If you'd like, I can help you figure out WHERE to look if I know what you're looking at!  wink

Go to this website: Click here to send me your browser info about being unable to add songs to your songbook
In the NAME field please enter your registered CHORDIE username (ie: mine is mekidsmom) and enter your email address in the appropriate field.

If you'd like to send the information for BOTH computers, that'd be fine!  You can enter your username in the name field and include something in parenthesis to differentiate each one.

ie:  From the computer having problems with the site:  MikeA205(issues)
And from the one not having problems:  MikeA205(this_one_works)

Or... something else obvious.  LOL!

For more details - explanation of what/why I'm asking people to go to this website and provide me with their information, see my original descriptive post here: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 04#p170704

OR - feel free to discuss it further right here with me, or click the link to send me a private email.  smile  I'll be more than happy to help however you're most comfortable!

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with it MikeA205.  As you started a new thread, and your issue MIGHT be slightly different, I'll go ahead and reply to you over there!  smile  Hopefully we can get this thing figured out together!

BUT - I found this one that works, hope it's the same sound for the song you were going for with your link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flz5lL9V2Bk

It certainly IS on the opposite spectrum from last week's song.  smile  I could hear this one played at a Chordie Gathering on a porch or in front of a fire.

Hey, if no one else wants to make life difficult for ya - you might as well do it yourself!  smile  Nah, just kidding.  Good luck with the learning curve of re-learning.  Remember, it takes a few months to be able to play SOMETHING that sounds like something - so if it takes three months to re-learn stuff, that can't be too bad!  smile  Keep us updated!

Werid... this one?  http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.p … UBTERR.TXT  I didn't have any issues adding it to my songbook.  So, I don't think it's the song.  Please go into this thread and follow the directions in this post (clearing cookies): http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 68#p170968  Make sure you follow the directions to close everything out first.  If you're still having issues, feel free to use the links I've provided in that thread to send me your browser information and post in that thread for me as well so I can follow up with you!  smile

I appreciate all the response to my question about insurance.  A couple of you really had some good input and gave me some incentive to further researching my concerns. One thing I don’t suppose was considered, and what I think would certainly merit thought is, for instance, you’re on a 10 minute break and someone walks up to the equipment and destroys some of the venue’s furnishings with it! Of course, they have insurance, but the venue's argument might be that had my equipment not been there it wouldn’t have happened. That made me think of the “bonding” aspect of coverage. I’ll certainly look into it, and if I find a particular element that would take in all considerations I’ll let chordie folks know about it. Thanks again for all of you and your wonderful direction.

You got me curious, not that I have a need to be, but still.  LOL!  I live in a "law happy" state (NY).

It looks like liability insurance is highly suggested, and might even be required by some venues you may play at.  Here's an interesting article: http://performermag.com/music-business- … insurance/  I bet most bands playing anywhere other than the corner bar in NY have to have some liability insurance.

As for insuring your OWN instruments, there are options.  This site states the insurance is written by Hanover Ins. group - that's a name I've heard before, and the cost doesn't seem too terribly high. I have no clue if they're any good, but something to consider and may be cheaper than bonding (in my experience, bonding is BETTER but way more expensive - though that's coming from the viewpoint of having malpractice insurance in the hair/cosmetology industry):  https://www.musicproinsurance.com/pages … dEquipment - Supposedly they even cover under "acts of God" which sounds fishy to me. That's not too common in insurance.  I'm not recommending this, it's just something I found for referencewink

You may even want to talk to whomever handles your homeowners or vehicle insurance to see if they have something they could write up for you! A rider to a homeowners policy might be possible for cheaper than just insuring specific instruments when away from home separately.

Why not record this song using the voice recorder of Windows 10, then enter the mp3 to the riffmaster pro software to slow it down.

Yup, or feed it to Chordify.com and see what it comes up with...... might help to know it appears like he's in drop D tuning.

I just looked that website up again, and WHOOPS!  It's .net  smile  .com will bring you to somewhere that won't quite help.

Hey!  Build two, why they heck not!  smile  Jim saw your photos.  He just hasn't been on much to post.  Busy working and teaching at the hall with only one day off lately.

As for your photos, Roger fixed it for you.  Going forward, this is how it should look:

Yeah Ami thats the song Ive tried firefox same problem same with any song on chordie ,if I print from any where else no problem s its only hapened since chordie upgraded.I just now have to copy and past into word to get the complete song

*** Edit RG - Using internet explorer 11 windows 8.1 and he has also tried Firefox too ***

Hmmmmm... weird!

When you are using Internet Explorer 11, and go to print, you should see the print dialog pop up.  It should look something like this:

https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1683/25904552236_1841e5546c_z.jpg

Up at the top, of course you'll want to make sure your printer is selected.  Down in Page Range, make sure ALL is selected.  It almost sounds to me like instead, you might have something different as the default.  Such as the Current Page or just Pages and the number 2.  So check for that.

Also, if you click on Preferences, it will open up your printer software.  This will be different for everyone depending on what brand and model of printer you're using.  Somewhere in there, you should be able to choose the option to "print preview".  Then click ok, and be brought back to this screen.  Now when you click print, you'll get a preview first and can verify that both pages will print.

If looking through this doesn't fix it for you, let me know the make and model of your printer (for example mine is a brother mfc-j285w as you can see here) and I can look into the various settings for you and see if I can find if there's maybe something set as a default in your software causing the issue.  It's odd though, if it's only happening when printing from Chordie.

For the sake of making sure I've got all your info correctly, can you also do this for me?

Go to this website: Click here to send me your browser info
In the NAME field you can just enter Graham or Grah1 - when I get the email I'll know what this is about, even though it'll say the subject is related to songbook, don't worry about that.  Also enter your email address in the appropriate field.  Maybe we'll work on this via email instead of on the site, though, it can be helpful for others to see the results here in the event they are having similar issues! smile

Looking forward to helping to get this straightened out for you!  smile

Flex Seal ... I never even thought of that ... what a great idea! Greg's waders were covered by warranty (ORVIS) so they sent him a new pair. And there's nothing like a can o' cocktail weenies, beef jerky, my wife's cinnamon buns, and hot cocoa in a thermos to keep a feller on the water when the fish are biting.

Hmmm... when I was a kid, it was always a cooler full of soda (pop?  Coke-a-Cola or Root Beer) for me and Budweiser for Dad along with several bags of potato chips, and a soggy sandwich or two.  smile  Usually my pockets were filled with worms.  ha ha!  Course, we fished on the lake in a tiny aluminum boat.

April is almost here.  Hang in there!

That certainly sounds like a good idea to me KevinRK!  I don't play out, personally.  If I did though, I'd be concerned about equipment possibly getting ruined and wouldn't want to count on someone ELSE's insurance covering me.  Can you imagine a bar fight gone wrong?  Some moron spilling beer on your sound board?  AHH!  Someone in here's got to have some suggestions.  smile
