Just picked up a 30 watt Laney line backer that I won on EBay for 20 pounds. A quick test and it seems ok I just needed a basic amp that would take my pedal board or my acoustic.I have a couple of line 6 spiders but they are way too loud for most small bars and my orange tiny terror is a little too dirty with my acoustic so I m hoping this will fill the bill and as it cost next to nothing that's great

Hi Scott to be honest for an open Mic performance I would be inclined to go with out effects ,maybe a little reverb that's all if you have a good sound guy running the event then you will sound good with out the need for effects .Martin who runs the sessions at the bluesbar harrogate has a variety of effects on his pa and will set up what ever you require I don't know what set up you guys use over there but I would enquire before lugging all my gear somewhere to play three or four songs .Can t wait to hear a vid

Great message there Curt I would however like to here the live version with the harmonica rather than the flute I think it would give a more folksy feel ,ina sort of Neil Young flavour . Well done keep them coming .

No Phill your not alone .However rap and dance can be adapted to give some great songs. Donna Summers hot stuff and the Beasty boys fight for your right are two good examples . I love playing the guitar break in our version of hot stuff .

Jim I doubt that this has a ply body I've only taken the cover off the back so far and it appears to be solid as far as I can tell ,the weight seems the same as my genuine fenders.

Hi guys firstly apologies for not having posted in a while ,lots of things getting in the way .Anyway yesterday I spotted an old Hohner Strat in a junkshop so I had a look and much to my surprise it was a 1970s Japanese model round about when the law suits were going on .So I paid the 30 pound asking price took it home cleaned and re strung it and it plays and sounds amazing every bit as good as my genuine tele and better than my other 2 modern strats I know many suppliers jumped on the Japanese strat waggon during this time period labelling these guitars as there own . I can't date it precisely as their are no visible serial numbers but I've found a few vids on YouTube demonstrating the same guitar and an eBay search revealed an asking price of up to 400 pounds so I'm very pleased.
You tube vid for reference mine is white but otherwise the same.

I'd get the repair dude to do it lespauls have a solid neck not like a fender which bolts on .I presume it's the head stockists snapped off .The repair guy will understand what needs to be done rather than trust it to your friend who although it an experienced wood worker isn't a luthier . Hope you get it sorted Russell.

It is with much sadness that I write about the loss of my good friend and long time band mate Brian Viall .Brian lost the fight against cancer this morning .
Brian and I founded GB blues band around 14 years ago when we met in Crete. Brian always provided the pumping rhythms for GBs music ,though often in the back ground while i fronted the band it was Brian who kept the band grounded in the blues .
Today I have lost a great friend and musical soul mate .
Rock on Brian .

Hey Roger when we lived in Crete the last band I played with had two nurses and a heart surgeon as part of the line up. So we always got executive treatment at the hospital.

Arkady I thought you'd tell me you used audacity I some times use the same program I thought I could detect a slight latency in some of the mix. I find I have to 're position the starting point of each track to combat this .Good track though .I always enjoy your stuff.
