Been hearing alot of ads for The Doheny Blues festival comig up in May here in So Cal. I would love to go, but.... So I'm wondering if anyone is planning on attending any fests, paloozas, or even concerts this year. My dream fest is the Telluride Blues n Brews Festival. Someday I'll make it there!

Wow this is a toughie. First one that comes to mind is Can't Buy Me Love.

+1 with Tops. You need to answer your own question.

Good one 'Nom. I liked that movie. It was my first taste of Steve Vai.

Cool video, worth the watch. It's not in my musical wheelhouse but I can appreciate it for his talent and artistry.

An observation and question:

You can see that the people are enjoying it and he gets a standing ovation at the end. It looks like a packed house. These people obviously enjoyed talented musicians. So my question is, how in the world are people like Beiber able to get so big? I just don't get it.

Awww, she's a cutie Pix.

I must have missed this post somehow. I'm a dog lover. We had a Mastiff/Rott mix for 8 years. His name was Taz. He was a 90 pound lap dog. He died like 4 years ago. He was the coolest.  I used to take him to work with me. I would love another dog, but they're expensive and my son isn't responsible enough at this point.

First off, they are not mine so don't think I'm spoiled or lucky. One of our volunteer ladies at the after school program somehow got in contact with an older guy who was trying to sell his music shop to retire. Long story short, she picked up 8 guitars and 3 accessory kits(stand, strings, tuner, strap, picks) for really cheap. They are Stagg brand guitars. 3/4 size. Yesterday was kind of a busy day so I didn't get a chance to handle one. But I will! We were gonna hang them on the wall but she didn't get the right hooks. I would love to start something up on a regular basis but can only be there 1 afternoon a week and that's when I run the bike club. It's a shame to let them hang on the wall and collect dust. I'll have to do some hard thinking.

Pretty soon all the greats will be gone. What will we do then?????? Another sad day in R&R history.

What an idiot. You don't get rid of guitars like that close to where you stole them. And you don't pawn them for next to nothing when they are worth ALOT. Some people are just plain stupid.

Sad. The stroke didn't sideline him so it must've been a serious heart attack to take him out. Truly an icon lost.

Wow, I figured they would never see them again.

Looks like dollar for dollar you came out close to even. All involved were used. But I would ask him about it and see what he says.

Great stories!!!!

This is the reason I would love to teach more people to play guitar. I'm sans student right now, but have my fingers crossed.

Prayers going out.

Just curious, is Tom a believer?

unless the kids are with me, then I often have no choice but to listen to the Justin Beber CD over... and over... and over... and over...  roll

Not in my car!!!!!!!!  I feel so sorry for you Amy.

I have to take my 8 year old son to school every morning so in my cd player is a cd that I put together for him. Some things on it I play. It's about 1/2 kids stuff(veggietales, worship songs from camps he's gone to, and a few from animated movies he likes) and 1/2 my stuff(Beach Boys, CCR, Queen, Elvis, Tom Petty, The Who). He digs my stuff!!!!

How many of you play the REAL B barre chord with the high e? I did some checking and lots of people leave out the e like bun does. If you look up a B chord chart it shows x13331. I'm not saying it's wrong to leave out the e I'm just curious. Without the e is it still just a B or something weird like B#add2sus?

I agree. I'd rather pay a little more and get what I want.

I'm sure he'll be fine. Being a viking and all, he probably clubbed her on the head and threw her in the boat as he does with bass.

Congrats Jim!!!!!!

Hi All!!!

Came across this link and wanted to know if anyone else has seen it or done it? It sounds well and good. I read the terms and conditions (click on the "we respect your email privacy" above the guitar. The third party advertising cookie thing sounds a little strange, I don't know how that stuff works tho.

Sounds to good to be true.

But you know what? I was digging through my dads record collection and I found a great song about deforestation in Scandanavia, and it's not too hard to play. I think it's called "Norwegian Wood." I bet NOBODY has heard of that one. Have you? It's by some band called "The Bangles" or "The Bee Gees" . . . I don't know, something with a B. The "Beastie Boys" maybe. Or "The Beetle Boys."

You'er kidding right MB?
