Armor All contains Silicone wax, which is great for plastics and vinyl, but never put it on your motorcycle seat (!) or under hard braking you might just wind up sitting on the fuel cap.  Another in that family of spray on products is this stuff called Protect- All... if you can find it, contains Carnuba and Monton waxes and an additional UV Inhibitor (without polishing abrasives).  Usually available from RV and Marine supply stores.  Pump spray, aerosol can, and in bottles, easy to apply and easy to buff by hand with long lasting protection for almost any surface including wood, leather, fiberglass, rubber, chrome, vinyl and paint.  I've used that as well on guitars with good results and almost as easy as that old favorite (gasp!!) Pledge.  Please don't laugh (I did), when it was recommended by a guitar salesperson at a "big box" retailer..... it's better than nothing. big_smile

Doug you just said the 2 most dirty words a detailer has to hear.  Armor All .   Please cease and desist from any usage of that vile substance.  No matter what is listed in it, it will degrade all surfaces its put on, and it will crack  them over time.   it is a royal pain in the ( ! ) to remove and clean off to properly condition leather and  vinyl.   just cause its shiny dont make it good.

The Pledge is not a bad suggestion for guitars, just don't get it on the fret board.  You can use Old English,  its lemon and mineral oil.  both of which are fine for fret boards.

Sorry but the detailer in me could not hold back any longer.

But it should be noted that many car products also contain ultra fine polishing abrasives to remove surface scratches

This is where you HAVE TO READ THE  PRODUCT LABEL.  smile   What you are referring to is a "Cleaning Wax"  Pure Caranuba does not contain the silica's which provide the abrasives.  As I mentioned I use Sealants that are a combination of Natural waxes and Polymers.  A wax many don't know about is called Monton.  It's deep mined and has a higher resistance than caranuba.  One of my favorite products i s made this way. it is called POXY by HD car care (amazon sells it.)  and if you do have a bit of pick scratching  and what not , their product called SPEED cleans up the surface very nice.   If all you are doing is by hand, even with a thin french coat, you would have to really work the _____ out of it to do damage.  Most damage is due to improper use of a buffer.  The pictured guitar has a product called KNOCKOUT by Greenways  car care. it is a Polymer based sealant.  (As a note, Meguiars yellow wax is a real pain to remove, so stay away from it)

Bill as long as the finish is not a natural finish, car wax is very good. guitars have enamels or urethane,  so the car wax is great and last longer, shines brighter.  This is a picture of my TAK after using my detailing one step (light correction, polish and sealant- A polymer wax directive) Product.  sorry its so big that's how it is saved on FB. but you really see how great the auto line can be.  At home I suggest a nice product like Surf City Garage hand mixed liquid caranuba wax,   (its easier to work with  than paste wax.  just tape off your wood.  I tape the bridge off flat around it and then lemon oil it, then put the tape on its knife edge around the bridge and the frets and use my car stuff.  I have a 3" buffer  but by hand with a nice microfiber applicator and nice towels to remove will be great also.

THANKS GUYS,
- Well as always TF I find this out AFTER I pay LOL.   I'm not worried the 8 inch Celestion was only 30 bucks. the JJ power tube was 13 (and Musicians friend has the 17% off sale right now)  and the MESA was 25 so  +/- $60 is not a bad  investment.

- Blue Jeep  I found a page with a guy hot rodded the V5 and can make it a 10 Watt, but hell after all his mods  and the cost, I could just buy a high out put Black star! LOL

GOOD AFTERNOON CHORDIANS!
Tubes:  We all love them, but it’s like ice cream, some vanilla taste better than others, also we all have our own taste (as all things in life).  This being said, after really getting into some of our topics I ended up with a case of AAS (Amp Acquisition Syndrome).  As much as I would like sell the two I have, the fact is the Berhinger 1x12 V-Tone is not worth that much being cosmetically broken (the input jack is shade tree fixed, though a good one and one of the effects knobs is broke at the stem but still works).  My other amp is the first generation Bugera Vintage 5 (V5).  The newer ones have had the infinium circuit and the upgraded Turbosound speaker.
I can’t run out and buy a Blackstar, Peavey 6505 (God I wish!), or Mesa (kill me now) even a 20W combo are not even in the picture, nor is any new amp, I looked into upgrading my Bugera.  First mods and really the only ones affordable.  New tubes and speaker.  After a lot of reading and then talking to the “Tube Guy” at  Tommy’s Guitar shop (local owned and been around forever!).  I was aksing about the “Flavors” of different 12AX7’s and EL34’s.  I learned that JJ tubes are very good and that JJ also produces the MESA tubes To a high and stringent performance spec.  Higher than the basic JJ tubes.  So yep, I went with a MESA 12AX7. (25 bucks) Most power tubes come in pairs, and JJ has them in single order option, Since JJ makes the tubes for MESA, I went with their EL34.  It also is priced nice at a nice $13.00.  I am also switching out the speaker to a Celestion Eight 15.  This provides more of a rock tone than the Turbosound or Jensen from all reviews and advice from “The Tube Guy” LOL.  So I will be waiting for my presents to myself. And I will not swap till all parts are in my hands.  Ill make some sound demos of stock, then the new tubes, and then the new speaker with new tubes.

P.S. IF YOU READ THIS FAR, THANKS AND LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS.

What songs of his are in double drop d?

Cinnamon Girl, Ohio can be,,, honestly most people don't notice the difference but when you're playing in electric it really rings out and it keeps that hi E from ping ping ping.
Look up Marty Schwartz on guitar Jamz YouTube and his lesson for cinnamon girl and that's where I also learned about the double drop d while granted most of us have always played in standard tuning it just adds a little more meat to it when you're playing it on an electric guitar same thing for playing Ohio there's probably a few more but cinnamon girl is really the main one.

Must admit, I'm with TF - never liked the headstock, which has caused me to never play one ... (and I'm too happy with my Maton)

Really?? I like the fact it is different and I think very elegant.  Then again I am a fan of the big bottle opener head stock on the old deans and the legacy models. LOLOL big_smile

I tested this guitar in a shop. Loved it!  I'dd put it against my Classic Ovation, and it was actually easier to play.

I know I was having issues with audacity it was having latency problems and I probably should have recorded in mono but we were kind of just not wanting to spoil the moment and I just hit record and it came out and stereo which has never been a problem before but I don't know why it was so crappy a recording I may replace it with something else we have a couple other versions but that one kind of sounded the best

Me and the kid went at it again.  I was watching a show with the wife, and Cory started banging the skins, I went down and started jamming along with.  Then we said lets record it it sounded pretty cool, so here it is. kinda sloppy but it was fun!  (He says he doesn't like Punk rock,,,,, but this beat certainly sounds like it to me!)

was also having latency problems with Audacity.  probably should have recorded in mono.  the first recording on my old phone will probably be better.

LOL ... I don't even know where that idiom came from, Zurf. I just know that Mesa Boogie amps have a real nice low-end growl (which is a good thing) so that's what popped into my head.

And this is the growl that many Hard core /Thrash bands have turned to for that heavy bottom end.  and then we have all the off shoots of the "California sound"  and heavyily modded amps.   Bogner,  Rivera,  Soldano, and Jose Arrendondo advanced amp technology, and gave the world great tone.  Lets not forget RANDALL
