as i think i said in another msg i left, i'm not too clever with computer even at 28yrs of age,bad i know,but i would like to record one of my songs onto a site so that i can share it with any one who would like to listen,only not sure how.i have a lap top,electro acoustic guitar and a stereo mic.dont want to do a video tho just a recoding of my song. can any one help me, ta.

thank you, i do go to open mics but i pooh myself most of the time and then go wrong.i'm not so clever with the computer so not sure how i would put myself onto the site sandi thom went on.i will send my cd to all those places,just worried that people will say who the hell does she think she is,what gives her the right to think she's any good.people say they like some of my work, but are they just being kind and trying not to hurt my feelings. as you can tell i'm still unsure of my ability and get paranoid. thanks so much for advising me: (an english rose who's tying to bloom).ha,ha,ha,ha (god that last line was cheesy wannit, but i'll leave it there as i like cheese especially cheesy wotsits) ok i go now. ta again

cheers for your advice it did help,im now in a band as a singer,we do covers but one of the fab guitarits is helping me out with my own songs and i'm recording in march,the drummer also said he would help too.hopefully my cd will sound cool and hopefully it will appeal to others, heres hoping any way,we can all dream hey! cheers all

hope you have got further with your song writing. I agree with the others, also why not write about something that you have experienced or how you feel about something,If you're feeling crappy write down all the words that describe you at that point and same goes for if your happy.Pretend your in another situation and how you would be/feel if the situation were true. i still find it hard some times,some weeks/months words come other times it just sounds cheesy. i started off writing lyrics first and singing them in the tune i wanted,then found the right chords, but some times i now play the guitar and do lyrics together. when someone has told me they like my song it's uasually the ones where lyrics have been written first,but not always,so it doesnt really matter which way round you do it. there will be other artists out there that might not like my stuff which will be the same for every writer. i still worry how each song will sound to others but friends say that you cant please everyone,as people like different styles.so dont think about it too much,write as it comes to you.good luck (NEVER throw your songs away as they will be of use at another time,ive made this mistake when i first started writing)

i'm a singer songwriter & would like to know if i was to write a song for an artist or group,or even for someone else for their personal use. what would i need to do other than produce the material? how do i get my work copywrited? & what fee do i get? or do i charge what i like? is there a going rate? I only ask this as i was asked to write a song for someone for their personal reasons & wasn't sure what to say.A bit strange i know. if any one has any advice or info please let me know thanks.
