Song I wrote about a troubled relationship (marriage)  and how a man wants to save it.  ( based on a couple I know)

https://soundcloud.com/james-kenyon-997 … int-no-way

These are the Lyrics

Seems  like I been up since the middle of  March
Feeling just like I’m wet change on some grungy bar
And the rain’s coming down so hard I can barely see
but it can’t wash away  the ache I feel  in my heart

Maybe things will get better in the days to come
But this sure feels different in a most peculiar  way
And it seems I’ve got a running start on losing my faith
Because I  Just  can’t find the  words to make you stay

Chorus
I’ve  never been scared of nothing, no, I’ve never  run  away
Ain’t  been afraid to fight for what’s right, my whole life through
Oh there’s been times that  I’ve walked away from trouble
But Darling,  there ain’t no way  I can walk away from you

Let’s  try to forget the hurt and reasons that caused our  pain
Sometimes it’s best to let things unfold in their own way
Maybe it’s time to smile and believe in us all over again
And trust our hearts and dare to dream,  that love is here to stay
Chorus
I’ve  never been scared of nothing, no, I’ve never  run  away
Ain’t  been afraid to fight for what’s right, my whole life through
Oh there’s been times that  I’ve walked away from trouble
But Darling,  there ain’t no way  I can walk away from you
No, there ain’t no way  I can walk away from you
ain’t no way  I can walk away from you
ain’t no way  I can walk away from you

Nice one Brian !
Cool Playing, love the lyrics !
Cool cat too in the image - I'm guessing you drew that ! ( it's great !)

Keep them coming !

You and Pete should get together for a beer and celebrate  recent accomplishments, or just to say hi and have a pint or two !  ( Bring Jan too! )

I read a short verse in Magnolia Magazine by Nicole Ziza Bauer and it inspired me to write this song for all the troubled young people who are dealing with self doubt . As I read her lines it just somehow made me think of this message. (I borrowed a couple tidbits from her verse) The word Terra Noble I stole from the wine bottle that I was employing at the time smile It is Italian for Nobel Earth .

https://soundcloud.com/james-kenyon-997 … your-heart

These are the Lyrics :

Chorus
Look up, if only to remember
What seems constant
Can slowly change with time
As clouds fade into the sunset
Colors melt to hues unseen
Like terra noble in her prime

Verse 1

Put down that weight of loneliness
You’re more than what you criticize
Learn to love and forgive your flaws
Don’t chase worth found in others’ eyes

Verse 2

Look inside, there’s hidden beauty
Find your peace in all you do
Let the world feel your quiet magic
It’s been waiting on the real you
…. Just learn to trust your heart

Chorus

Look up, if only to remember
What seems constant
Can slowly change with time
As clouds fade into the sunset
Colors melt to hues unseen
Like terra noble in her prime

Verse 3

What if you fall? Then you’ll rise stronger
What if you fail? You’re not the only one
Every scar don’t mean you’re broken
Every fall don’t mean you’re done

Bridge
You don’t have to be fearless
Just brave enough to start
And if the road feels uncertain
That’s when you learn to trust your heart

Yeah learn to trust your heart
Gotta learn to trust your heart

Yeah, learn to trust your heart
learn to trust your heart
learn to trust your heart

learn to trust your heart
Just be brave enough to start

Bill

How are you buddy ?

I wrote this song a couple years ago, but now have the opportunity to do it justice.

It's how I believe my mother saw her life.

Onward Christian Soldiers

I am posting a related song in the songwriting forum.

Its not "Onward Christian Soldiers"    but a song I wrote about my Mother's faith. She sure was a Christian Soldier for sure.
Cheers everyone

Hope you like it !

Song I wrote about how sometimes people misplace whats important in a relationship. I actually got the idea from a book I was reading (probably one of the best books I've ever read " Theo Of Golden" ) and borrowed the lines poisonous beauty and pleasure without gratitude. Then, I just imagined a couple that were so engrossed with themselves, that they never found real love.

the link on SC   https://soundcloud.com/james-kenyon-997 … thout-love

These are the lyrics:

Verse 1
She was pretty as a rose in June
But every rose can hide a thorn
He was smooth as polished glass
Like the calm before a summer storm
He was tall, dark, and handsome
Her eyes lit up like a diamond ring
But they both should’ve known
Without love, beauty don’t mean a thing

Verse 2
The craving for what beauty promises
burned in their hearts like a fire
Two proud reflections in the mirror
filled with nothing else but desire
They looked like a picture from a magazine
a meteor blazing through the midnight sky
Looked like love to everyone who knew them
just two lonely hearts, living a beautiful lie

Chorus
Poisonous beauty, shining bright
Two lonely hearts lost in a dream
Pleasure without gratitude filled up their world
Perfectly in love with how they were seen
If only they knew what their lives could have been

Verse 3
But time has a way of revealing
What a vanity mirror never shows
When the fire of desire burns out
And the roots of love never grow
Now the mirror shows something different
Than the picture they used to see
Two lonely hearts standing together
Wondering what love’s meant to be
And that’s when the truth finally showed…
Chorus
Poisonous beauty, shining so bright
Two lonely hearts lost in a dream
Pleasure without gratitude filled up their world
Perfectly in love with how they were seen
If only they knew what their lives could have been

Outgo

Poisonous beauty, hidden dangers abound
Pleasure without gratitude as their life ran past
They had all the beauty life could offer
But without love, you know, nothing can last
without love, nothing lasts
yeah, without love, nothing can last
Nothing can last without love
beauty don’t mean a thing

Pete,

to the victor go the spoils - including the history books written about what happened.
truth is vanishing in our world

Pray for ( the God of your choice) all children, grandchildren, and those yet unborn.

It's hard for me to accept murdering 30,000 of your own people and wanting to have nuclear weapons so that you can wage a war that could bring on armageddon can be ignored
by civilized people.
Great writing My friend

Cheers,

I was in the mall this morning and heard a man and his wife arguing... and I heard him say " I apologize for nothing" !
Well by the time I got to my car the wheels in my head were already turning... i knew there had to be a song in there somewhere.

On the way home i used my phone to record some thoughts on what I thought was going on in their lives and also jotted down some partial  lines.  Worked on it most of the afternoon and finally came up with this version about midnight.

Thought it came out pretty well, but I am pretty biased smile

art nugget - lucky u r

This is a song I wrote back n 2024, when both my oldest brother and Strummerboy Bill (who most everyone on chordie knew  or knows of) were first dealing with early signs of dementia (a.k.a. Alzheimer's disease) .  It is a very sad, heartbreaking condition, not only for the victim, but also for those who love them.

Bill, if you are reading this - I hope it brings  back some memories of the good times shared here on chordie.

I re-wrote some of it today and recorded it using AI bc I can't sing or play music well enough to do it myself

Here is the link (the lyrics are posted there as well).
Probably the hardest song I've ever written.

I wrote this back when no one posting anything and Easybeat (Brian ) challenged us to write something.  I wrote this song, but kind of rushed it.  I always liked it, but it wasn't quite what I wanted with lyrics.  Re-wrote a bunch of it - and it makes more sense now and flows better.   ( I left the original lyrics  version alone here on chordie )

It's called   WHEN THE MAGNOLIAS BLOOM AGAIN

this is the link to it.

hope you like it.

I have no fb acct    ...... so no

NO PLACE LIKE IT !

I'd have been out ouf music a long time ago without it, met so many great people !

Thank you chordie!

I vote YEAH !
