Topdown has to do Sunday Morning Coming Down. He doesn't have to listen to it, but he has to do it.
My declaration of what Topdown has to do will have exactly as much influence on Topdown's actual behavior as I think it will. ;-)

Happy NGD. Your walls are going to start looking the way I imagine Jx3's to look.
RLMay57 - I'm going to move your message to the "About Chordie" forum, because I think you're more likely to get a useful answer there. I'll leave a redirect so that you'll be able to find it.
I generally don't know abot the personal lives of artists. When I do, I make decisions based on that. My faith teaches me not to judge, but sometimes there's a difference between judging and enabling. I try not to judge or enable.
Also Creep.
Sunday Morning Coming Down is a crowd favorite for Topdown. He also does a good job with Johnny Cash songs in general.
easybeat...... yep that is definately a 1970`s song .........so it can be entered in the hat, thanks

Anymore suggestions easy for a 90`s song?
Anyone else? .... time is running out
It appears that I don't remember the 90's much better than I remember the 80's, but for entirely different reasons.
Mr. Jones by Counting Crows is good.
Santa Monica by Everclear is good.
Song Country-ish songs from the 90's that I liked.
Don't Rock the Jukebox by Alan Jackson
Should've Been a Cowboy by Toby Keith
Love Without End, Amen by King George (George Straight)
Here's a Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares by Travis Tritt
Edit: I struck a song suggestion because I watched Darrell Scott play it, and it is simply not attainable to me in this lifetime. Maybe if I had two or three lifetimes to spare, I might get it eventually. But...maybe not.
Ok here's the cheat on Jack and Diane. Those chords inversions in the key of a are super unwieldy. So I cheated and moved it down to g using normal g d c chord shapes. Makes the song much easier. Don't tell anyone though.
That is meaningless to me. I thought it was in D.
Gidday All
thought i better support song of the month.
jammed a quicky version,i`ll put it on soundcloud for a few days if ya interested.

You always bring a new perspective and rhythm to songs I would never otherwise consider. Very nice.
The Weight
So here goes - my first recording lol
My style is really sloppy finger picking degenerating into random strums.
Wow! I really enjoyed what you brought to the table with this song. It did have a bit of a funk feel to it. JGreen has created the Funk/Folk Fusion genre and I LIKE IT!
Jandle - I'm still learning Jack and Diane. It uses some chord shapes that I'm not familiar with and my fingers are slow learners. Once I get that, getting the strumming rhythm that's contrapuntal to singing with the verse and chorus each being similar but not quite the same will be the next challenge. It's going to be a new threshold song for me, I think. I'm having to learn quite a bit about muting, chord shapes, alternate chords, embellishments, etc. to make it work. Which makes it a really great choice for CFSOTM. However, like Ripple was late, I think my April song will be performed some while after April has ended.
Never a discouraging word... As a longtime and frequent contributor to our community, he really helped to set the tone of encouragement that Chordie is known for.
Welcome back. Topdown and I were chatting about you and those cool songs you wrote about your friend when we got together at his house down in March.

Here's my go at The Weight.
I was going to record Wish You Were Here last month but MOJO1 nailed it so well that I decided to let it slide.
I'm going to pass on Jack And Diane...can't fit any harp into it, so far.
Very nice. As nice as your guitar playing was, I liked your singing best. Really nailed it.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I am very slow at these things. This particular song has been over ten years in development...
Listened to them both this morning Joe, and liked them both real well.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it doesn't seem to fit in the others real well and I'm Moderator of this one. So, it's possible I am abusing Moderator privilege, but Per can dock my pay.
Anyway - we've been having fun over in the Chordie Song Of The Month forum and some of us (including me) use Soundcloud.
Well, I discovered that our own Jets60 uses Soundcloud and I stumbled across this gem of his. Most of his songs are gems, but the first time I heard this song I listened to it three time straight. Next time we're in the back yard again, I'll bring him an extra beer if he plays it live for me.
Anyway - check it out if you're on Soundcloud.
I apologize for not getting that amp out yet. I've been working some crazy hours and have been busy at home too.
I'll get to the music shop to try and mooch a box for it soon as I can.
I haven't forgot you, buddy.
Mojo - Love it. Nice chop in the rhythm. Love those right hand mutes!
I let it slide.

I find music very instinctive.
I find having a few drinks then trying to squirm an ad-libbed bass line in a Leonard Cohen song in some mode or another using a root of C and capo 4 and a whole bunch of chords that don't seem like they ought to be there next to impossible rather than instinctive. You know, as a random example and definitely not something I was actually doing at midnight when I had to get up early for Easter the next day.
Good luck.
Well that's probably why the guitar is weak in the mix. I wasn't wearing a proper hat.
The rearrangement of the chords was accidental, but it sounded OK and so I left it. I treat these songs as I would a virtual campfire. It's nice that you thought I was smart enough to do that on purpose.
Good photo.
I did a copy of The Weight tonight complete with excessive use of reverb and a harmonica, but Soundcloud appears to be down this evening. I can't connect. So you will all have to live another day without hearing my cauterwauling and random hootification.
Soundcloud came back up. Here you go.
