Unfortunatley, that is life. You just have to make time, as hard as it is sometimes. Since I retired, I now have all the time in the world, which is nice. I hope you don't have to wait until you retire to find the time, but it's something to look forward to. Good luck bud.

Amy, you have to realise that these ailments always hit us men harder than they do you ladies.
This is because germs and viruses know that men are far stronger than women and so they do not attack you as much as they do us.
Roger
LOL, you took the words right out of my mouth Roger.

And I think I have figured mine out also. At least mostly. It's sounding better. I thoght I was supposed to sound like Josh Groban when I use it, but I guess not. There must be a knob for that.

Re: New Mixer (31 replies, posted in Recording)
Man, we'll get there. When you say main volume, is the the one at the borttom of the strip for that mic? There is just something about my finished recordings that I do not like, but I can't figure it out. I know that is vague and you can't help me on it, but I am just trying to get the finished output sound louder without having to crank up my speakers.

Re: New Mixer (31 replies, posted in Recording)
On that note Jerome, I have noticed that I have play back set to speakers and it is still working, however I have to crank up the speakers sound quite a bit to hear my finished recording. Which pot controls the amount of sound out of the finished product?

It is at their own peril if they are watching me undress. I always keep something over my Webcam when not using it. I'm covered, as is my webcam.

I change every 3-4 months and I play thhem often. If you buy a tuner peg winder, they usually have a notch in one end to pull the pegs out.

Hey, I'm a happy man. I just tried your instructions on the effects portion and they work great. Haven't tried to record yet, but it's set up. A whole new world opened up for me. Thank you again Jerome for all your help. I'm excited.

Re: New Mixer (31 replies, posted in Recording)
I'm going to get back at it later in the day. Thanks again jerome for the help. I need to gather a little nerve and find some time, but I will get it working.
Bob, don't give up. We'll work this out together. First, a couple of things I learned on my own. If you go to control panel and sounds, you have to have both playback and recording set to USB audio codec. This means that you have to go back to playback and cahnge it back to speakers when you are not recording to hear your regular stuff on the computer. A minor issue, but important. The next thing is, on your mixer you have to have the Main to Monitor button pushed in and also the 2TRKS/USB to Main button pushed in for this thing to work. If you follow all of Jeromes info and add these things, you should be up and running. Now it's just a matter of finding the right settings for regular recording and special effects, which is what I will be working on later in the day hopefully. Good luck Bob and stay tuned. We won't give up.

Still no LED readings and no sound after recording with another USB cable.

Re: New Mixer (31 replies, posted in Recording)
OK, Jerome. I did as you told me. As I turned the gain up, I heard my voice in the headphones. More than I had before. However, when I talk, the recording LEDs do not light up. And on my Webcam software, for sound, it reads 3-USB Audio Codec, which the manual says to make sure you have it on USB Audio Codec. Still no sound after recording. I will try my old USB cabkle and give it a shot.

Topic: New Mixer (31 replies, posted in Recording)
I decided to upgrade to a new USB mixer with effects.
http://www.alesis.com/multimix8usbfx
I am having trouble getting it to work, however. I have followed all the steps to no avail. It came with Cubase, which I am also having trouble setting up correctly and registering. Actually it is a registration problem. My question is, do I need Cubase for my computer to recognize the new mixer? I didn't need any external apps for my older Alesis. I get power and phantom power but no LEDs light up when I am talking to the mics. So it appears my computer is not recognizing the new mixer. Even though it says I don't need a driver, do I nee a driver. There are some available, which I cannot find now. Any help? Jerome?
