Random thought of the day: I believe if all the members of the Rolling Stones shave their heads they could all pass as siblings of Captain Jean Luc Picard. I further believe that if you put "Rocker hair" on Captain Jean Luc Picard he could be mistaken as a member of the Rolling Stones....maybe playing the electric cello or the equivalent. Google their pictures and check it out and see what you think.

I would rather be Cousin It.  smile

How about Moder-gator?

I think The Beatles musical evolution was interesting to live through. I enjoyed their earlier works when I was a kid, but their more complex efforts were great as well. I wonder how much their music would have changed if they stayed together and continued their musical growth. I know the individual efforts of the band members were relatively successful.

Hey Russ - Great song, great performance(s) and fantastic job on the mix and video. I really liked how your video shared bits of the process of what goes into putting together a polished piece of music.

They have a page on Reverbnation. I could not find any of their songs (lyrics & chords) though. You might try asking them on their reverb site.

It's not here on chordie. You should be looking for Mel McDaniel who wrote the song as performed by Sammy Kershaw at the link below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuTEk2uqzTA

Here's a link to the tabs and it has the chrds as well:

If you think this is not right try and figure it out from the youtube video.

Sure, the Redskins (an American Football team for those who don't know) have a good chance to make the playoffs for the first time and I don't know how many years and what happens? The world comes to an end a week before the end of the season. It only stands to reason.

I don't listen to quite a few of the nominees but I do enjoy John Fullbright's music. His album "From the Ground Up" is nominated for best Americana album. I highly recommend it.

Hey Zurf,

Yep - I'm interested.
Northern VA but I could be talked into migrating north or south if it's within a day's drive...Big Meadows in Shenandoah Nat. Park would be nice but its not as wet as you're used to...I'm okay with your back yard....mine's too small...I think we have a campground or 2 near Haymarket, VA too, but again there's no water to speak of.
June-July-Aug...somewhere around there should work.

Hey TIGLJK,

I fixed the format a little so it will be a little easier to read.

Nice song.

Thanks TIGLJK,

I agree but at least the NFL gives a lot back for the troups. I just feel bad for all the homeless Vets who have been unable to adjust to civilian life...still quite a few out there.

Thanks Ark - Not sure how I got 3 posts on the song but I'm glad it is cleaned up.

Not sure why there are extra posts of this song. It was not intentially but for some reason it will not let me delete them now.

Your graded effort so far.......(Drum roll)........A solid "B". Now lets hope you can sustain it.....(could not resist punning around).

He [Am]grew up in America

[F]Loved his [G]country [Am]so

[Am]After school enlisted as a

[F]Regular [G]GI [Am]Joe

[C]He went off to [G]fight the war

[F]A hero through and [G]through

[Am]Served his country long and proud

The [F]way most [G]heroes [Am]do

[C] [G] [F] [G] [E] [E7]

[Am]Trained to use a rifle

And to [F]be part [G]of a [Am]team

[Am]Keeping all issued equipment

[F]Servicea[G]ble and [Am]clean

[C]Keep your head when [G]things go red

And [F]whine down when you’re [G]done

Be [Am]sure your feelings stay in check

And [F]don’t have [G]too much [Am]fun

[C] [G] [F] [G] [E] [E7]

[Am]Finished up his duty

[F]Honora[G]bly dis[Am]charged

[Am]Thank you for your service son

Now [F]here is [G]your re[Am]ward

A [C]skill that you must [G]put away

Un[F]less you can ap[G]ply

Your [Am]heavy duty marksmanship

[F]Much more [G]civi[Am]lized

[C] [G] [F] [G] [E] [E7]

[Am]Never found a fitting job

[F]Now he’s [G]hearing [Am]voices

[Am]Comes from being wound to tight

And [F]making [G]deadly [Am]choices

[C]Living on the [G]street somewhere

His [F]job is just sur[G]vive

[Am]Shelter food drink and warmth

[F]Try and [G]keep a[Am]live

[C] [G] [F] [G] [E] [E7]

He’s [Am]got another team now

The [F]unit [G]of the [Am]homeless

[Am]Hero days forgotten now

[F]Though he [G]couldn’t [Am]care less

He [C]doesn’t mind the [G]lifestyle

For he’s [F]done it all be[G]fore

[Am]Keeping his country safe and sound

U[F]pon some [G]foreign [Am]shore

[C] [G] [F] [G] [Am] [F] [G] [Am]

Very good song and performance...tragic story but life is like that sometimes.

So what are you going to do with your extra hour?

I get to play an hour longer tonight I guess so long as I can stay awake.

I am hoping all the undecided voters use the extra hour to decide.

I am still wondering how anyone can be undecided at this point.

Charlie Brown is looking in his bag of candy and says, "I got a rock." My thoughts on that: Yes you do Charlie Brown!

That Charlie Brown...he's a clown.

Me made it through with a little damage to a front yard tree and mailbox. Never lost power although it did blink a few times.

Hey Blues,

I really enjoy this song... It tells a great story of friendship over the years, and it plays real well too. If you don't mind I'm gonna add this to my covers file.

This is a song about growing to understand your own limitations and influence on the world.

I recommend you start a new thread as this one is for "Red Guitar".
