Well, I managed to grab a few 5 minutes yesterday, and you play awesomely!! Moonlight Sonata has been a favourite of mine since I was young, but I've got to say the stand out track for me was Malaguena - I've probably heard it before, but didn't know the name of it ...

I'm not sure why you'd think people would be reluctant to hear classical music - I love it when played on guitar; it has a certain quality that can't be captured on other instruments, it may not be everyones cup of tea, but I would hope that (as a collective bunch of guitarists) we'd be able to appreciate well played piees on th instrument of our choice. I love rock, but don't really like heave metal, but I can appreciate a good tune in that genre too ...

Anyway, hope you post some more for us mere mortals to ogle smile

Cheers

This sounds great. I think Beamer has rubbed off on me because I was expecting to hear Enter Sandman, which is a different song entirely.

It did get me wondering if anyone has attempted an Enter Sandman cover on uke, which I shall now research.

Again, sounded wonderful!

Have a look for the CCleaner keyword in the forums - I remember Classical Guitar wrote a lengthy description on how to fix this issue - or you may want to touch base with him to ask him (sorry, I use Mac's, so I'd be slow to guide you through a Windows process) ....

Thanks all - I was hoping to record it with him, but found the continual arpeggios hard on his fingers ... but he was happy to learn something outside of his normal music class - I told him he should play it for his teacher, but he gets a bit shy(?) - anyway he loves playing keys, and I think he's top of his class - but my opinion may be biased smile

I buy very expensive classical guitar cases and have never had anyone to try to take something that does not belong to them. At the same time there is nothing wrong with being thrifty and  buying a used case if it fits your guitar. I doubt it has to with  "would-be thieves".

I probably should quantify my response with the fact that, when working in a band, I've worked a lot of pubs/clubs where people can be tempted under the influence of alcochol to take something that's not theirs - it's happened to me at least once, fortunately I got that guitar back (the red and black acoustic) and I'm on a local group where there are weekly posts about people gear getting nicked - but most of them are from parked cars with all the gear in the back.

I'm glad it hasn't happened to you; it's not a nice feeling when gear goes missing ...

Hope that explains it.

That is a great deal. I have been known to buy a case here and there. I have no problem buying a used case.

Sometimes it's good to have expensive guitars in cheap looking cases, so they look less appealing to would-be thieves ....

I'm not a SoundCloud expert (one app I have on my iPad uploads it's recording directly there), however I believe you need to record the tune onto your local PC and do all the adjustments there, prior to uploading it to SoundCloud. I've never seen where you can record directly into it, like a recording program ... I hope others can chime in if I'm mistaken.

Ok here is my entry that easybeat challenged me too.  I had a  bit of free time tonight to learn it,  practice it a little bit and record it.  Actually easybeat, when I listened to Frank Sinatra singing it, I didn't know the song at all really, it was not what I was thinking it was.  Anyway, I had to do it tonight or not at all as I am babysitting my 2 yr old grandson for 3 weeks and today and tonight was my only child free day to do anything this month.  Also, I have never really tried to play Jazz before, that in itself will take me a while to learn how to play properly.  So I am not sure it sounds very Jazzy to be honest, and the vocals aren't the best in places as I am not that familiar with this song.  It is another song that I wouldn`t mind having another go at but I had to stop, it was getting late and the neighbours probably aren't impressed!https://soundcloud.com/ukulelejan/fly-me-to-the-moon

Sounds good!! I did a version over a year ago, but my recording techniques weren't so good then (vocals are a bit distorted!!) ...

Can I challenge you to do Nancy Sinatra's "Boots are made for walking" ... ???

Cheers
