I suggest you open a new thread for that "Buddy", but you'll find plenty on chordie.

This is just a song about luck. I hear some folks think that they’re unlucky. I think you are either unlucky or lucky if you think you are. It’s all in your head.

Luck Is What You Make It By Jeff Gilpin

September 29, 2012

Verses go like this

D..A..D..A..D..A..E..E7..

D..A..D..A..D….F#....

G..D..A….G..D..A….G..D..A….G..D..E….D….A

Verse 1

There’s [D]risk in every [A]waking

[D]Danger in every [A]turn

Just [D]walking down the [A]sidewalk

There are [E]lessons that we [E7]learn

[D]Every spoken [A]hello

[D]Every casual [A]glance

[D]Every shared amusement

Every [F#]turn in every dance

Chorus

[G]Luck is [D]what you [A]make it

It’s [G]fearful [D]or its [A]fun

[G]Shun it [D]or em[A]brace it

But [G]luck [D]is [E] what you [D]make it [A]

Verse 2

There [D]is no guaran[A]tee in life

There [D]is no chosen [A]path

All [D]roads lead to [A]disaster

And [E]all roads make you [E7]laugh

[D]How you handle [A]all the things

That [D]come along in [A]life

[D]Really are all up to you

And [F#]how you roll the dice

Chorus

[G]Luck is [D]what you [A]make it

It’s [G]fearful [D]or its [A]fun

[G]Shun it [D]or em[A]brace it

But [G]luck [D]is [E] what you [D]make it [A]

Verse 3

[D]Heading down the [A]road in life

There’s [D]many a twisted [A]turn

Get [D]through to the [A]other side

With [E]all the scars you [E7]earned

[D]Character de[A]velops

[D]Attitudes ce[A]ment

[D]What’s sent down to face you

Might [F#]be just heaven sent

Chorus

[G]Luck is [D]what you [A]make it

Its [G]fearful [D]or its [A]fun

[G]Shun it [D]or em[A]brace it

But [G]luck [D]is [E] what you [D]make it [A]

Hello folks,
since this is a football thread, here in Aus. we are into Rugby League finals football with so called sudden death games being played where winners play winners and losers drop out.
Teams remaining are South Sydney Rabbitohs, Manly Sea Eagles, Canterbury Bulldogs, all from Sydney and the Melbourne Storm, obviously from Melbourne. At this stage the betting agencies are tipping the Bulldogs.
The Brisbane Broncos (my team) have already been knocked out of the competition.
A bit of trivia for you; the South Sydney Rabbitohs team is owned by Russel Crowe, (some of you may have heard of him)
Cheers for now
All the best

One of the players on the Washington Redskins played Aus Rules Football. His name is Sav Rocca and he's their punter. He's the only punters in the league I know of who looks forward to making a tackle when he's on the field. Here is a youtube of him back in his earlier ARF days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=civKdIgEC6I

A little song about missing the mountains I grew up in.

Blue Ridge Blue By Jeff Gilpin

September 9, 2012

Verse 1

When [D]I was a [F]boy

I moved to a [C]home

[G]Out in the mountains

The place I would [D]roam

Nestled in a [F]valley

Far from city [C]life

[G]Surrounded by ridges

Reaching up to the [D]sky

Chorus 1

They were [F]Blue [C]Ridge [D]blue

Rising [F]up in the [C]air

[G]Tall as the [F]heavens

I [G]just stood and [D]stared

At the [F]Blue [C]Ridge [D]blue

The [F]colors so [C]deep

And I [G]drank in the [F]sight

I was [G]trying to [D]keep

Verse 2

Years passed on [F]by

And I moved a[C]way

[G]Into the city

Where I had to [D]stay

Closer to [F]work

Civili[C]zation

[G]Far from my thoughts

But in my imagi[D]nation I saw

Chorus 2

[F]Ridges [C]so [D]blue

Rising [F]up in the [C]air

[G]Tall as the [F]heavens

I i[G]magined they were [D]there

Those [F]ridges [C]so [D]blue

The [F]colors so [C]deep

And [G]I drank in the [F]sight

I could [G]see it in my [D]sleep

Verse 3

Years upon [F]years

I’m still in the [C]city

Built [G]with a keen eye

To some maybe [D]pretty

I guess they looks [F]fine

But I feel no [C]joy

Like in the [G]Blue Ridge mountains

I grew up in as a [D]boy

Chorus 3

With the [F]ridges [C]so [D]blue

Rising [F]up in the [C]air

[G]Tall as the [F]heavens

I still i[G]magine I’m [D]there

The [F]ridges [C]so [D]blue

The [F]colors so [C]deep

I [G]drink in the [F]sight

That I [G]see it in my [D]sleep

Using minor chords can turn a song creepy if you want to give that a try.

thanks Dino...I know water is sometimes overlooked, but it may be as precious as oil in the future...I can just imagine "water speculators" driving the cost up if we don't watch out.

Little Bit By Jeff Gilpin

August 2nd, 2012

Intro

[G] [D]

Verse 1

I’m a [G]little bit tired little bit old

[D]Little bit happy little bit cold

[C]Little bit poor but a little bit rich

[G]Little bit scratchy on my [D]little bitty itch

Verse 2

I’m [G]fortunate to be here today

[D]Life has just turned out that way

[C]Led me down it’s one way path

I [G]figured out how to [D]do the math

Chorus

[C]Little bit of this an a little bit of that

[G]Landed on my feet the proverbial cat

[C]Dodged the bullets survived the fall

[D]Can’t complain all [C]through it all

Verse 3

A [G]friend to almost any man

So [D]long as they let me be who I am

And [C]not dictate how I should live

Or [G]what I have to take or [D]what to give

Verse 4

[G]Do my own thing and when I’m done

I’ll [D]do it again if it was fun

Or [C]do something else if it’s a bummer

[G]Off to one thing [D]on to another

Chorus

[C]Don’t you stop me when I get going

Whether it’s [G]pouring rain or cold and snowing

It’s [C]my life to live and I’m going to live it

[D]Giving it all that [C]I got to give it

Verse 5

[G]I have friends from far and near

[D]On occasion we’ll share a beer

[C]Discuss all what is wrong today

[G]Bet we could fix it if we [D]had our way

Verse 6

But [G]we do not and that’s just fine

[D]Because we only have a little bit of time

To [C]live in this world and try not to break it

And [G]if we’re lucky we [D]might even make it

Ending Chorus

And [C]if I make it I’ll give some back

For [G]what’s important or those who lack

[C]But I’ll spend some before I forget

[D]Try and enjoy myself just a [C]little [G]bit
