Hi,
I didn't play with my electric guitar for a while, I directly wanted to play some old tunes I always enjoyed playing. There's this Jimi Hendrix song, Castles Made of Sand, it's a really special song... I don't sing this song 'cause my voice doesn't match.

Thanks!
Yes, everything is done all by myself : the characters, the environments, the textures, the texts, the story...
I originally wanted to create an animation, but it's time consuming, because when my (old) computer is calculating all the scenes I cannot do anything else. For a 5 minutes animation I need 7500 images (25 images to create 1 second). I easily reach 20 days of calculation... Which is impossible. So I decided to create a cartoon based on what I originally planned.
I had another cartoon, but in french, based on my family (21 storyboards) though I started this when I was 15 and there's grammar mistakes... (We were dumb when we were teenager
).
It was done by hand and when I was 20-21 I did the last storyboard by hand and texted them with my computer. Maybe I'll share the latest work, it's call "Oliver's band", it was a Simpson like (original version is call : "La bande à Olivier") and I'll translate them to English.
But I'm more focus on my actual project, the past is the past ^^

Hello everybody!
I'm really excited to announce and show you my latest work. A comic realized with Blender and Gimp. Inspired by real life and "Final Fantasy" videogames, I'll also try to add funny dialogues in the story.
It's only a brief presentation, you'll only see the first 2 pages. If you like, I'll post more!
I hope you'll like this comic! ![]()

Topic: Everybody Can Be A DJ (1 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Hello!
I really like country/folk/rock/funk music, which is real music (as Jazz, Classical music, and so on), except!!! Except, in my opinion, electronic music.
Why? Most of electronic lovers are dumb. (And I meet a bunch of them)
I'll tell you my story. I'm half American (My father is American, my mother Belgian), stuck in Belgium because I'm over 21 one so I need to wait 7 years for my visa application. I didn't know I had the chance to have the US citizenship when I was under 18. (Between 18-21 it starts to be harder but it's still feasible). The laws often changed and it's quiet hard to know what to follow Belgian laws? American laws?
I always had the idea of coming back to my roots, but Europe has changed a lot this last 20 years. Well I close this bracket.
So! Well country music isn't very popular in Belgium. Rock WAS popular but since the 2000's electronic music is the first music young people listen to. (I'm 25)
I don't really like to go out because it's always those annoying "boom boom boom" (and it reminds me the djihadist bombs... just kidding).
So, I decided to create a parody of Electronic music, just to see the impact? Is it really easier to have more views on youtube when we do electronic music instead of playing a real instrument and sing a real song?
I did everything in about 25 minutes.
Everybody Can Be A DJ, lyrics, music and video created by Curtis K.
Lyrics :
"Tout le monde peut être DJ
Parce Qu'on Est Aussi Bon Que Stromae*
Everybody Can Be A DJ
Cause I'm As Good As Stromae
Three Notes Every Eight Bits
That's How My Music Reached The Hit"
*Stromae is a electronic "musician" and "singer" famous in Belgium.
He was on tour in the US, I think Belgium overrated his notoriety outside french speaking countries.
Medias promote music like Stromae instead of, for example, Selah Sue. (I don't really like Selah Sue but it sounds more like a real music, she's also Belgian.)
Music created with AudioSauna. (In about 15 minutes)
Video created with Blender. (In about 10 minutes)
For, approximately, 25 minutes, I've done what every DJ do.
And the video is here :

Thanks for your answers!
I always use a tuner. When I started to play guitar (5-6 years ago), I hadn't tuner, my guitar wasn't tuned too bad, but when I firstly used a tuner the guitar was almost one step down... ^^'
I don't even know the music we will cover (apparently it will be more a cover band) though I'd like to play my original song with them if they want...
I don't think I'll do any solo... (we'll be 2 guitarists) and I suck at solo... Except solo like "Blue Eyes Cryin' In The Rain".

Hello!
I'm about to play with a band... We don't know each other yet, we will discover each other soon. (Normally we'll play together friday the 20th of november)
I wanna know some tips, I never played in a band. (I won't be the only one who never played in a band, we will be 5 or 6, some a bit more experienced, some not).
Firstly, I told the guy I contacted, that I prefer to play rhythmic acoustic guitar instead of electric guitar. Though I think I'll bring both with me.
Will my folk guitar be heard inside the local? (it's a little studio)
Tell me how it was for you (if you remember)?
Thanks for reading!

Thanks,
Yeah, I heard the C chord... At the starting it's a hammer off on the second fret of B string, then we play C and the song start...
Though I'm a bit off...
[C] [F]
The handle on my suitcase is coming off again
etc?
It sounds like there's 3 guitars (2 acoustic and one electric), that's why I have difficulties..
How will you play it for a single guitar?

Hello!
Here's 2 folk tracks I sent to hypothetical future bandmate... Some of them liked, some of them didn't like, well it's life! Though I'm still alone... And I think I'll try to play live alone.
I just play with my folk guitar and sing.
Liberty Peace & Respect (acoustic)

Topic: Do I need another acoustic guitar? (15 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Hi!
I used to play with a standard tuning, though, I play 2-3 songs with a Drop-D tuning.
I broke my 1 string (the thinest) by repetitively doing this... So, should I get another guitar especially for the Drop-D tuning?
Thanks for your answer!

Re: 2 Original Demo (8 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
Thanks Grah1
Actually I play more with my acoustic guitar and I was thinking about recording an acoustic version of "Home of The Braves", I only have one micro, recording with an electric and singing at the same time is a bit hard because I have to push up my voice, so my voice isn't so natural I think.
I'd like to have a band, but I want to play country/folk, because I'm at ease with this musical genre and because I'm half US, though I live in Belgium and country/folk isn't popular here, even unknown for a big part of the population...

Hi,
This is my cover of "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
https://soundcloud.com/curtis-k-music/c … mary-cover
Tell me what you think, I sing it with my voice, I mean, if you listen to my original tracks, I was too influenced by Neil Young and I think I imitated him unconsciously.
Also, I recorded it in my bedroom, there's no reverb and I was closer from the mic, so I didn't need to sing louder as I did previously.

Hi,
I want to share with you my 2 original songs, it’s only 2 demo.
I don’t have a bassist, drummer, that’s why my songs might change if I had a band.
“Left Alone” is a folk song about loneliness.
“Home of The Braves” is a classic rock song about my roots, what I am, what I feel. I'm Belgian, with an American father, and a US family.
That's why I said "you'll maybe notice it by my accent", I might have a strange accent... ah ah
There’s also some global idea, each phrases could have a different sense depending of your own interpretation.
I created this soundcloud account to know what the people think about my music. Instead of playing in my room, keeping my tracks privately. Moreover, I'd like to play live.
I’d like to have feedback!

Re: New fret on my guitar doesn't look new... (11 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I have another question!
Is it possible to know the string gauge of a guitar?
I told to my luthier 0.10 - 0.46, I'm almost sure he set a string gauge of 0.9 - 0.42
It's the third time he does the "error"... I won't go to this luthier anymore...
I'm almost sure, because I compared with my other electric guitar which is 0.10-0.46, and the E string looks a little bit thicker.
If I want a 0.10-0.46 instead of a 0.9-0.42 on my Fender Stratocaster it's simply because it was originally, when I bought it, with a 0.10-0.46 string gauge. And the sound, mainly the sound of the E, A and D strings, sounds really better. Actually my sound is a bit... Metallic, and it's not only because the strings are new, because it's a thiner string gauge...

Re: New fret on my guitar doesn't look new... (11 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Yep!
But the sound of my strat is less good since I changed the frets. (The old frets were "rounded", I mean, the shape was the basic shape of a fret, but they were very worn)
I'll try both guitar (Mexican/USA) at the same time, to have a better point of view ^^
Thanks to all for your answers!

Re: New fret on my guitar doesn't look new... (11 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Thanks for the informations!
So it's maybe a "fret dressing". Never heard about this but I'm not luthier.
You reassure me. it's just because it looked weird, the fret are so flat at the top that it looks like mirror.
I think I'll sell my guitar (in about 1-2 years) because I plan to live in USA, Fender (and other guitar) are generally more affordable than Europe.
The one I own is a Mexican, not bad but there's better :-)
