Yes Biil, done that. I was given a poem a while ago called Black Cat, and asked if I could put a tune to it. Sat for a few nights strumming over and over adding a chord here and there till I eventually got it spot on. When I played the melody without looking at the lyrics I thought, where have I heard this before. Unknowingly I'd pinched the tune from Ralph McTell's Streets of London. If you see him please don't say anything

I had just been reading a couple of news items. One about children being recruited into certain armies while some western politicians choose to turn a blind eye. Then another about how hard life is for women in the N Korean army, and you come along with this little gem Phill. How appropriate, nice one Phill.

A nice easy tune with great lyrics as we've come to expect from TIG. I even found time to fit a little harmonica in . It's your song TIG and I have not right to mess with it, but after playing it through a few times, for me the last line of the chorus flowed a little better played
And (G) let(Fmaj7) go of what you cannot (C)change.
Just my very humble opinion, and thank you for sharing another great song.

I just want to say. Hello Bill & Dondra. Anyone of a certain age over this side of the pond will be aware of the saying. Think lucky and you'll be lucky. Take care.

A line in the chorus. See I [F] don't want to get hurt a[G]gain. Somehow for me it jus flowed a little better if played. See I [F] don't want to get [C] hurt a[G]gain. But that's just me. Great song though

Firstly I wouldn't know what a J45 sounded like if you hit me with one. Sorry to learn of your diagnosis, but as for the doctors prognosis of 3 to 5 years, forget it. How does he know he doesn't have a crystal ball. I belong to a FB group of people who have been diagnosed with terminal brain cancers and many of them way out live their prognosis, in some cases by decades. Keep a positive attitude and live every day like it's your last, we all should. Because one day it will be. Good luck.

After a few beers, not stoned just a few. No distractions such as tv. Just me, my guitar and beer. Heaven.

Today it would probably be something by Neil Young. Tomorrow perhaps The Who, the day after it could be James Taylor. Who knows? It depends on the mood at the time. By the way. Welcome to Chordie.

Not a great fan of tabs myself, and it's just as easy to learn the notes from sheet music. Both just take a bit of practice.

Re: Who has had the opportunity to meet and mingle with famous musicians? (27 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Many years ago we used to hang around with a band called The Nashville Teens. Those of us who are of a certain age will remember Tobacco Road, but i'm talking a good few years after that. The guitarist at that time was a bloke named Len Tucker, he used to show me a few tricks here and there on guitar, looking back he probably wasn't a great guitarist but to me he was rock royalty. One day he announced he was quiting the Teens to join another band. Don't go we told him. You're doing ok here steady work regular money you're making a big mistake. He quit anyway. A few weeks later we went to see his new band, I was pretty un impressed. We met the band on several occasions for a few beers after the gigs and sat chatting about how well the band was doing, but I still thought he's making a mistake. The band was fronted by a small American girl who sang and played bass, just a gimmick I thought, won't last. Turned out to be Suzy Quatro, and Len eventually married her. Oh well, I got it wrong again.

I very rarely use a pick, but I had to smile at JJJ's comment about socks. I always seem to lose just one sock at a time. No idea where they go but I got a lot of odd socks. So if theirs any one legged strummers out there I can fix you up with some.
