I  wrote   this  song  after   the  executions    by  IS earlier  this year  I  dont   think  I  posted  it .

Dark is  the  weather
Grey is  the  sky
sad  are  the  people  preparing to  die
who knows why  they  suffer the  people  relate
all now must  perish   for  that  is  their  fate
oh  why do they  have
to make  there  wars
what makes it right  to follow  a  cause
do you  think that your  god  tells  you the  truth
do you really  think he's speaking to  you
Forgotten faces  on a big screen
cant understand  the  horror  they've seen
what is  the  reason  no  one  can say
as the blade  strikes  you all look away

Phill the control socket is for an external volume pedal to control the wah and pitch shift what I did was add a wire to the back of the drum on off switch ,any competant electronics guy can do this in about 15 mins

Hi  Mazzy   to repeat   what  Pete  has  said nice  lyrics .I  liked the  song but  I found  the  echo    a  bit strong ,I  think  it detracts from your natural  singing  voice ,I get  the  impression that  you  recorded in a  room with  a  natural  reverb, maybe  its  a  conservatory   with  a  lot  of  glass I  dont  know but that combined  with  the  uke seems  to  create  a  problem  ,Perhaps  a  change  of  room where  you record  will provide  a more  mellow  sound .I look  forward  to  hearing  your next  song   well done Mazzy

Phil I  modified  mine  with  an external foot switch  for  the  drum machine  so  I  could  easily  switch  it on and  off  when playing live  Its  simple just  a  two  core  lead  from the  back  of  the  switch  to  a  push  to  make foot switch   from maplin  ,cost  a  couple  of  pounds

I used  an RP 70  for  years  great  pedal pretty  much  the  same  as  the RP 55.I  stopped  using  it  when one  of  the  switches    broke   but  I   later  repaired  it and  still have it  as  a  backup in Greece  My  current   pedal of  choice    is  the  Boss  be5  just  4  effects    but    sounds  great for  what  I  need .

Is   that  speechless   or  horrified Bill ...lol

Not  likely  she's  a  worse  singer  than Bob

My  apology's to  all  Bob  fans    especially  my  wife  Pam  for  this  .but  she  sings  along  at the  end

TF I'm going  to  try  a  heavier  string  maybe  even   a  thin bass string  I  have  an ES 335  copy  here  which  sounds  nice  and  dirty for this sort  of  thing , on the  recording  I'm using  a  yamaha  pacifica  112

Live recording  of   my  new as yet un named  band in rehearsal  studio hope you  like  it

Guitar is  tune A A E A B E With  the  low A  being  an octave   down ,10s gauge  strings  but  I  shal  be  changing  the  low  A  for  something  heavier  as  it flaps  a bit
John  prince  on bass  Mike  davies  on drums  and  me  on guitar

The thing  about  band  members  is  when you  find  your  ideal  you  can  just  jump in  and  play  like  it  was  yesterday , Having  just  got back playing  with  John Prince  who  I last played  with  some  years back its  like  picking up  where  we  left off. Same  applies to  my Greek  band  pals   we  have  a  break  for  6  or  8 months  then just  play  like we've  been rehearsing  for  weeks   straight off. Magic.

A desperate  situation ,I  wrote  a  song  last  year  on this  subject   when I  was  in Greece   ,I  feel  for  these  people but I  dont  think  the  answer  is migration ,certainly  it  causes  bad  feelings  and  resentment  in the  country  they  come  to .I  dont  know  the  answer ,but  songs  like  this  serve  to  make  the  world  stop and  think .Well  done  beestie .

I sometimes write bits down as they come up or just record a riff or progression on my lap top then come back to it when the next bit pops into my head but mostly I do the whole thing straight off usualy at stupid o clock in the morning
