neither
My messenger name for Yahoo is "paintermanone" I used it before I got back into guitar... I have an easel in the corner of the music room
Me and the wife are both into art. I do a lot of sketching, charcoal rubs, and painting. Just an old hobby from the college days when I was really into it. The wife is a better painter though... She has turned her hobby into a nice little side business of painting custom murals.

Wayne, Just to help you out if you want to try it....
All you have to do is type in Yahoo messenger download and then download it. It's quick, easy, and free. Once it's downloaded it will add all your contacts from your mail files, so she should already show up for you. Just click on her name and you're instant messaging (as long as she has installed it also).
The screen will look similar to this
Once you're connected you just click the webcam button at the top and you have a video link. Click the mic/voice icon and you have audio feed. On some versions this will show up as a phone/pc to pc call icon... It's really that easy to have a live video and audio link to teach through... -Pix

That's great Wayne! I have a few friends from around the world that I play with online and that may be an option for you as well. If you have a messenger service, like yahoo messenger, you can do a pc to pc call for audio and then activate your webcams for a video feed. This way it's almost like sitting across from one another. You get to see and hear the other person and it's all free! If you're not familier with this and are interested just let me know and maybe I can carry you through the steps and we'll even give it a quick test run, so that you and her can make use of it. Best of luck and I hope she sticks with it. -Pix

If you become an editor for the artist, You can add/link that version of the song to chordie and edit to your hearts content...
To become an editor just go to the artist page and click "Improve this page" Then you can choose that song and link the Http address for the version you want to chordie. After that you can edit away.

If you have an extra say $25 -35 bucks, I'd recommend ordering a crowning file for the frets. You'll find it very usefull in the long run, that is, If you can keep track of it
I seem to have to order one every few months. Stew-Mac or Luthiers merch. are both good suppliers. Sanding them removes the crown and can cause intonation issues and or buzzing, not to mention the fact that you will have to replace them much sooner. Here's a link to the one I usually use http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_su … _File.html Though, there are are less expensive ones available that work well also... -Pix

Re: Baritone Uke Strings (7 replies, posted in Other string instruments)
Check the fret really well and make sure it's smooth. Make sure your fretting finger nails are cut short and are smooth. They can nick the string causing premature breakage... I use aquilas on both of my baritone ukes and have never had any break issues in DGBE tuning. If you want to try anouther brand, Worth strings would be my next choice.
G strings have the smallest core diameter of any other string and are always easier to break. The winding just makes them look thicker than say the B & E strings but they are still the most fragile... -Pix

Cool, That's a good idea! Just for refrence... The sensors and coil do have to be removed by you before they can be checked individually. They have to be bench tested inside. The scan should pick them up anyway though. I just didn't want you to show up and tell them to check the sensors individually because of my advice ![]()

Re: Automotive thread..... (9 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
The MAF (Mass airflow sensor) on fords, usually will make it sputter during idle but it usually levels out with some gas.... This is also referred to as a TPS (Throttle position sensor) on most other models... Ford uses the MAF as a TPS on some of their vehicles... So you may have both or just the MAF.. If it's located on top of the air induction chances are you only have the MAF. if you have both than it would more than likely be the TPS rather than the MAF, But again that should have shown up on a scan... Also you may want to check out the Crank or Cam position sensor, These took the place of distibutors when electronic ignition took over and they tell your engine when to fire... They can also cause your problem. 90% of these sensors ( MAF, TPS, CPS, MAP...) can be checked at Autozone to see if they are bad before you buy a new one. Even the coil can be checked. So before you go and buy a lot of parts have them to check them for you. If they say they can't, then ask for the manager and he will make sure it get's done for you. Sometimes the employees love to just say it's not possible instead of actually taking the time to help a customer properly... Sorry
I'm just thinking/writting out loud here...:)

If it was me I'd start off by looking really good for vacuum leaks (there is a really neat trick to this involving a propane torch but I won't go there...Just incase) Just get down and look and listen to all your lines. Pop the hood at night in a very dark area and look for any arching in the wires.. Next you can go the pcv valve since it's really cheap, and the fuel filters not a bad idea either. I doubt it's an O2 sensor, as they usually result in just lower mpg and will show up on a scan (Though sometimes the scanner reads them as misfires) Have you gotten gas anywhere different lately? Could be water/ trash in the lines. Run it till it's about empty and then fill up with high test....If you suspect water, you can add half a bottle of rubbing alcohol, as it will allow the gas and water to mix and burn out. Never, put just a little gas in a car and use fuel injector cleaner or put more than one bottle in a tank!! It will burn the valves!
All this is just off the top of my head... I'll give it some real thought and drop you an email with some more ideas..-Pix

Re: Automotive thread..... (9 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Does the car smoke after idling for a while? I worked for 3 years with GM and was a diagnostic specialist with Autozone for 4-5 years... Mainly just educating employees and such. If you're close by either an Autozone or Advance, I'd say stop in and have them run an OBD2 diagnostic scan on it. It's free for cars newer than '96 and it will give you a good starting point. I'll try to help as much as I can though, on here...
Chances are it's not the coil, Generally speaking, A coil will start to show signs when it's hot (loseing fire) and oil on the plugs would indicate either the rings or valve seals. If it smokes a little all the time, it's rings, If it only smokes after prolonged idling it probably valve seals... Get it scanned first. With all the sensors controlling timing now a days it's a good idea, before you start tearing into anything. Heck it could very well be something as simple as a vacum leak causing it to run rough, but the oil on the plugs is a sure sign of future, more serious problems..

Do you play guitar with "Barrett's Privateers"? I'd be curious how/what you play. I've always heard it done strictly vocal..
Nice list! I really enjoyed "New Yorks Not My Home" First time I had heard that one... -Pix
