Okay, it was a long day of football. I'm really sorry I didn't just turn off the Green Bay/Chicago game around half time..... that whole second half was agonizing, like a "talk radio" show with boring graphics.
The first two well worth hanging in through with well fought games and physical through and through! Still a lot of football to go to the SB ahead,....
the rest of the season should be real interesting.
I agree about the second half Aaron Rogers could have thrown 10 touchdowns but Green Bay is far to classy for that so they mercifully put in the second string offence and defense or the Bears would have scored O points

TF I installed the GF texas coils in my strat build you can hear what they sound like on my website I have two songs I use them on with the White Strat I built, so before you spend 175 big ones you might be happy with the ones I put in ![]()

I think we will all be in for a treat when you get it done.
dino I did spend around 3 hrs. rehearsing Africa today so far I can play the progression and sing in the same key as Toto just have to memorize the lyrics and rehearse with the keyboard player when he is free but I am confident it will be a nice cover it is a fun song to play and sing ![]()

Since you first told us about the Rondo music site, Russell, I've had my eyes on an all wood-grain Strat copy they have:
http://www.rondomusic.com/leona1.html
It would probably need the pickups swapped out for something hotter, like some Seymour-Duncan SSL-3's (love their sound!).
"Rocky Mountain Way" is a fun song to play. My Boss Multi-Effects board has an effect called "Voice" which is controlled with the pedal. It's not quite the same as the "talk box" that Joe uses, but odd enough to smile at.
Funny thing is I looked at the same guitar darn it sure is purty I am using a brass slide on rocky mountain way I am forgoing the talk box solo in favor of a nice slide solo, as far as pickups for the strat check out GuitarFettish they have some hot texas coils for a strat very resonalble

I thought a tele would be the ideal choice for your collection. I would like too hear some of your joe walsh and steve lukither from toto, also like Donavan a lot.
Yes the Tele would be my choice too I have so many things on the burner I have to prioritize right now I am working with a keyboard player on Toto's Africa. http://www.songnotes.cc/songs/168-toto-africa

For those of you like me want to learn the song this is the best page it has lyrics and chords and a video of Toto doing the song in the same key so you can play along just capo the 2nd fret and play in A (tabs too!)

Re: NEW LINEUP (43 replies, posted in Electric)
Russell whats next on your gas list, or is it too soon too ask? I am guessing a Fender Telicaster or a Rickenbacker.
dino I was looking at a modified tele on Rondo guitars it was only 115.00 not a fender but the same pickups and wiring, body and neck I tried to get it and it was out of stock I can wait. My next priority is recording some new songs with my newly purchased Alesis SR-16 for authentic drum sounds including various fills for that real feel its the closest sound to a real drummer I have come across. I have been playing around with Toto's Africa Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy man and for good measure Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way and Life's been good might even do Neal Young's After The Gold Rush what the heck all of them lol

If I could find "A black hole deep in space", I'd stop by just to play that Douglas for a few minutes (its been on my GAS list since you first got it)
I live in Port Washington Wisconsin about 25 miles north of Milwaukee I can see the lake(Michigan) from my front door I would consider parting with it for the right price in has a new hard shell case too for those serious minded people but if your in the neighborhood email me and your more then welcome to give it a whirl ![]()

Re: NEW LINEUP (43 replies, posted in Electric)
Is that the Douglas on the left? It's huge compared to the LP. I like the LP better.
you are correct Z funny thing is the LP weighs about 2lbs more then the Douglass the noticeable difference is the frets and speed on the LP they are really low and fast so much so I am ordering a fret file to lower the frets on the Douglass and the Fender builds of course I have to lower the nut and bridge equally there is a kit at Stewmac to protect the fretboard from getting scratched I am ordering it and I will "attend" via video link a tutorial on doing it right. ![]()

Re: NEW LINEUP (43 replies, posted in Electric)
Nice wall! But you seem to be a tad short on acoustics.
I also have a Dobro Houndog in a case I go direct from my effects unit to the Tascam DP24 for guitar, bass and my new Aleisis drum machine all the vocals run through a processor and into the Tascam I use headsets to monitor and mix

That's a great looking arsenal, Russell.
Great to have everything hung up to admire, and to keep them safe. My wife calls my collection "The Wall of Noise". Some people just have no appreciation for dive bombing at high volumes (LOL).
