Thanks Ark and Phill

I seem to remember quite a bit of rain there myself...the pubs were kinder around Molesworth Village but lack the football.

Thanks Steel and Daddy -Robert -Leeds will have another year in the Championship after coming close to promotion this past year.
Steel - I've been trying to work on my songwriting. I'm also fond of storytelling and that comes out in my music sometimes.

Hey Phil - very nice. I thought I figured out some of it, but I went to your myspace page and found out I didn't have it quite right....very nice song.

Thanks to Phill Williams for starting me off. I was going to try and write something folksy, but it ended up being more upbeat, almost rockabilly. Give it a try and see what you think. This is my first Leeds song. I’ve only been there once, and that was to Elland Road so I missed seeing most of the area. Leeds United had a 2-0 win over Spurs back in the late 90s. I hope to get back one day and see more.

Thanks Ark. Yep, that is Leeds in a nutshell but it is also a good music city too. Leeds is one of my vacation destinations for sometime in the future, and most assuredly during football season. I saw Leeds play Spurs at Elland Road back in the late 90s, and I've been a fan ever since.

Thanks you all....Phil...I will see what I can do with the start.

Kenny...I'm waiting to get my house back to get recording again. I believe that will be this fall and I will start trying to catch up then.

BTW Kenny: TAB's are easy, at least mine are. I'm sure there are some better tab folk on chordie than me out there but here is what I'm trying to say: My intro tab is the notes for the verses I sing...since I'm not recording much I'm trying to help out on how the song sounds.

This is just a bluesy love song I was goofing around with tonight. Wish I could find a way to write a love song with Leeds in it.  smile

Great sentiment Robert, and a great song too. I gave it a go and it sounds and sings great. Well done my friend.

Thanks Dino. It's not really Beatles the way I play it, but I guess it could be played that way. I think the cool thing about seeing the song without the hearing the music is you have a clean slate to give it a try. I know many times I've found songs here and played them just like I later heard them recorded, but other times the way I tried it was totally different, but still good. I play it more acoustic/folk/rock-ish if that makes sense.

Thanks you all - I'll playing them all at the July Jam for those who can make it. Played this for the wife and grand kid a few minutes ago...and they liked it.

I had a good day at work today. Some days it’s like nothing can go wrong from the time you wake up until your head hits the pillow. I sure wish there were some way to bottle days like this.

Thanks Joe and steel - I owe my cowboy songs to my pop. He grew up living that life way back in the Big Bend area of Texas. He use to tell me when he was a kid the first thing he did after waking up in the morning was to shake the scorpions out of his boots before he put them on. I always wished I would get to chance to experience what he did but other than camping out some I never did.

Jets, Another good song.  I write these types of cowboy songs and you've hit the subject and detail right. Very enjoyable. I spend my summers playing music and cowboying so I really enjoyed,I'd like to see any other cowboy tunes you have.

Hey Joe,

Here is the link to another one I wrote here on chordie a while back called Cowboy Dreams. I hope you like it.

Thanks you all. My dad kind of steered me towards cowboys. He grew up in Texas and would always be wearing his cowboy boots and an old stetson hat.

The [A]young, the old, and the [D]able

You’re [G]up with the sun un[D]til the jobs done

With [Em]some of your meals from a [A]table [A7]

So [G]choose your poison [D]partner

Whether it’s [G]good, bad, or [D]just a bit sad

It’s a [A]cowboy’s life for [D]me [A]

I [D]don’t even care if she’s ugly

The "this weekend" is about getting with daddycool to write a song together. My recdording room was taken over by my daughter and her family who are staying with us for a while. I have a big long list of songs I need to record but I was holding out for when my daughter moves out....I'm hoping sometime this year but not sure exactly when.

Thanks for the feedback. I figure I will have the time to do more recording on my own once I retire. For now, I will enjoy writing for me.

Hey Steel,

Thanks - I have thought about it, but you have to get a recognized name before you people start doing wanting to record your songs. Maybe I will be able to when my day job and school doesn't take the majority of my time.
