It really doesn't matter if you are singing
With it in my opinion. The lyrics and melody are what people recognize.  If you are just strumming chords you may recognize the song but others probably wont

I don't know whether it applies to women.  I do know that all women look great in any kind of hat or cap.  And I know that some women do wear hats just to hide their frustated hair do's.  I don't wear hats often, though I do have a small collection mostly used for working out in the sun.

Playing my guitar is one of my great fun things to do.  Now that I bought a motorhome this spring, I enjoy going camping very much.  I try to get out camping at least once a month. And my yard keeps me busy, which I also enjoy foe the most part.

My Fender acoustic remains in the back of the closet.  I used to like it.

You just have to think about what ladies like.  Romance, love, things like that.  Those kind of songs will pull them in.  Good luck.

I noticed that I was unable to get on quite a few times myself.  It just kept spinning away.

It is a natural tendency to press hard when you don't have to.  I think we all do it.  If you don't think about it, you probably press hard.  I catch myself sometimes and make an effort to use less tension, but that's only when I think about it.  I guess we need to make oursleves think about it all the time until it becomes habit.  I think it is a noble effort to work on this issue. Just another bridge to cross.

My oldest daughter turns 36 tomorrow.  And my third grandchild turns 3 on the 29th.

Right on , beamer

I do know that many people have come to this forum in the past and asked for any songs with 3-4 chords (A,D,E for example) because those are the chords they have learned so far.  This will help them immensley

I totally agree with Russell.  I was trhinking the same thing as I read your story.  He hired you for what you were playing, so why change.  Keep the same style of music and add a few more different tunes for fill ins.  The crowd will let you know what they like.  And good luck.  It sounds like fun.

A joke?

Here's to a great evening for you both, badeye.  I'll have a beer later and celebrate.

That is a sad story indeed, Dino.  I thought you went for lettuce and came home with a new guitar.

I have a variation.  Sometimes I use one mic and sometimes two. This time I used two.

I bought this kit some time back after talking to Jerome.  He guided me quite a bit and is very knowledgeable.
I also bought this after talking to him.

The mixer is USb and the mics plug into it.  It is really a pretty simple setup, even though I still don't know much about the settings on the mixer.

I love my HD28.  I play it at home by myself, at bar-b-ques, at get together at friends and I take it camping and play well into the evening.  It is a great all around guitar.  Don't worry about its deep base sound.  It is welcomed wherever.

Dino is right about learning scales.  A lot of us here have gotten kind of bored with just chords, so we find songs with lead intros and spruce up the chords with that.  Find a song you like with some lead licks and use them with your chords.  It spruces up your playing.  And its fun.
