Jazz and blues have a lot of cross-over. It's hard to tell where one stops and the other starts.
Jam bands - well shoot. Who knows? Put them somewhere and wait for someone to complain.

I couldn't get through six years worth of links. And it's a day early, but blues isn't about precision. I hope this isn't a duplicate, but given the tremendous rain storm we had last night and all the snow it helped turn into run-off, the song fits. I'm glad to be a mile off the bank of the river today.
I would do a jam band, jazz or funk thing.

You've got three different places to put that, depending on the mood of the song. It could fit in bluegrass, folk, or rock.
Consider Guild and Seagull, as they have the best low projection I have tried. Taks tend to be a little jangly in my opinion, but that works for a lot of songs.
I must have missed this, but I think I saw it on Facebook. Happy OGD. It's been almost a week, so that guitar's getting a little old for you. Time for a new one.
Read. I read, read, read, read, read. I read about streams. About boat ramps. I read about techniques. I read about how to present this fly or that lure. I read about paddling skills. I read about which rivers are polluted (a sad addition to the material). I read the regulations. I read magazines, books, fishing reports, solunar tables, and blogs. When I finally get to the water, I forget everything I read.

I'm glad that it was all safe upon arrival.
Of the many things in the world I have no intention of paying for, those can be added to the list.
This is curl up under blanket and whimper weather right now. Cold. Wet. Gross.
It's tuned the same as fiddle DGAE. You could probably learn. If it interests you and you can afford it, buy one.
Wishing you all the best as you turn pages between chapters.
Happens to me all the time. I just put up the guitar for a while and mess with pictures or read a book or something.
The last band I was in changed practice venue and night and told everyone but me. But wait, you're thinking, wasn't that a Christian band? Yes. Yes it was. LOL. I guess some people are more fun than others. You they mentor. Me they dodge.
I'm glad y'all are having a good time.
First set of strings in 29 years means you don't pound on that box hard enough.
That should be some good entertainment for you. I hope you enjoy it.
Have you got in touch with Mr. McIlvey? He may recall the author of the story.
We are between Philomont, VA and Dulles Airport both geographically and snow total wise. NWS has us at 34", though our personal measurements were between 28" and 32" on the flat areas. I worked with my wife and kids and neighbors to dig us out, and then to get the folks next door. They're OK to watch for themselves most times, but with a 60 year old whose had multiple back surgeries and her octogenarian mother with a bad back and heart condition, we figured why not help out? We had a nice visit with them too, which is always welcome.
More digging tomorrow, I'm sure. The neighbor who is wheelchair bound needs to be dug out, but until they plow the road, there's no point. He couldn't get out anyway. We'll get him taken care of soon enough. This neighborhood looks out for its own.
It's snowing and blowing like mad here in the Virginia Piedmont. Kind of fun. It got up to about 18" on the flat (but drifting a lot) and so I decided to shovel out my patio and a path to the front door and the street. Our town's snow plows are broken, so we're going to be stuck for a while. No big. We've got booze, food, lots of water and juice and healthful drinks, have kept our power, and all is snug, warm, comfortable, and ready.
That sounds like fun and complicated.

The company I work for used to train and supervise the TSA agents. There were some complaints TSA found unacceptable and didn't renew our contract. Once TSA took back over, the number and severity of complaints increased substantially. Given that I have a little insight to what they are dealing with, I find it a wonder there's not more trouble.
As for guns, think of Conan the Barbarians's riddle of steel. It's all about the person weilding it.
So, here in the states there's this multi-state jackpot that has a gazillion numbers and has something like 292,000,000 possible variations for any given drawing. It is defying the odds right now and has an annuity jackpot for a single winner of something like $1.5 Billion. That's something like a $60,000,000/year income (before taxes) each year for 30 years. Or, if you take the cash option versus the annuity value, it's $750,000,000 before taxes. Usually the single winner payout for the cash option after tax is something like 1/3 of the annuity value, or $500,000,000.
I've got a ticket. I splurged and got five tickets. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of what my economics professor would have called "estimated value" of $5.13/ticket at a cost of $2/ticket for a projected return of 256% , what my accounting professor would have called "worthless," and what my statistics professor would have called "a long shot."
So - a bunch of folks are saying what they'd do if they won. I can't say for sure what all would be done, but I am fairly certain of several things.
1. There would be a really great party on a very, very big boat.
2. The entertainment on the boat would be GREAT.
3. The bar on the boat would be extraordinarily well stocked.
4. The guests would go home with some terrific party favors.
I was learning to read and tie my shoes, which admittedly has been a long process.
