I agree, round of applause. You're a very helpful member, Doug, and one I'd call a Chordie Friend I'd like to meet someday.
Congrats, you're Honoured!
I refer to it as the "Chordie Family", but Chordians has been used a lot.
Welcome to the forums!!
Nice job Graham!
Welcome into the forums RJ! Doug gave some great info, and fyi, he is a very valuable source of techie info along with tons of guitar help! Thats what the forums are about and what makes rhe members here so highly valued! My autistic 7 year old sings all the Frozen songs constantly. I found a few versions online, and have one with simple chords that I play for her. I look forward to hearing and learning your version. Guitar tutorials of songs are very popular on youtube, and it seems there are always tins a different ways to go about songs. Again, looking dorward to yours!

Its not bad, for a few songs, but alllllllll night...gah!!!! BTW, Moms got a bunch of old pictures with Greek writing on the back. I might send you an email about that when I have a few extra minutes. Do you read Greek by any chance? I realize you have friends that could help, but I don't want to ask too much.
Also, ever hear of a lady named Oolie Baba? Not sure how to spell it but I remember her visiting from Greece and playing her record many many years ago.
if you're having issues, please send an email out to admin@chordie.com I do know that there have been a few bugs and he'll want to know if you're on a computer or tablet and browser using as well please. Thanks!!!
Amy
Ahhh, traditional greek wedding music. No thanks, not for long anyway. I look dorward to hearing the short recording and calling it a day. ![]()
Monday is coming up again ... just around the corner! Hopefully there'll be more than 3 other people there, and we'll get a few people walking by and not just driving past in their cars. I'm sure that'll make a difference! They "allow" people to set up here for free because it's a really low traffic area, and Monday's are very slow in the town (everyone leaves Sunday). I don't expect much, at all. It's not really busking in the traditional sense. I'm set up outside my car as are the craft people selling their wares. I've thought about setting up along the canal where people are known to walk, or closer to the amusement park. The down side is I have my little people with me, and Kate (has autism) can't be trusted to stick super close by if she comes along. Steph wants to dance. So this works, for the fun of it. I'm thinking of maybe setting up in the grass between the parking lot and the walkway along the lake's shore so Steph has more room to dance, and set up the guitar case (money please!) close to where I think the foot traffic will be IF people should choose to walk by us. We'll see how it goes, just hoping it doesn't rain again! ![]()
maybe no space after the colon? I'm not sure. I haven't had issues with formatting, although I haven't done it a lot of times. Here's the basic how to: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1957
I think it may have been a temporary glitch. Check again, and if it persists please email admin@chordie.com with the cause and error. ![]()
Excellent, only 249 more Monday nights like that and you can afford another Martin!
249X2 ... Steph's contract demands half the take! On the brights side, $2 is a lot to a 9 year old, so shes excited about the cash. Lol! I guess my $2 pays for the gas. Good thing we live close and I drive a rollerskate.

So, per the link above, every Monday folks can set up at no charge to sell thier crafts and what not. I went down last year once (or was it the year before?) and didnt know too many songs then. So my 9 year old dance queen went down with me last night. There were a total of three other people set up to sell their junk. It was overcast and drizzle on and off. We made $4 and had an AWESOME time! Honestly, I don't think we would have made anything if it wasn't for Stephs amazing dance skills. She has been known to bring people to tears. She even stopped and sang a few with me, and attempted to play her ONE song (Tom Dooley because its only two simple chords). When someone tried to sell us their junk, and asked our names, she thought it was because they were admiring us (I know it was all about the sale), she felt famous. Lol!!! She can't wait for next Monday.
So, all you upstate NYers... if you are up for a drive some Monday, want to jam for a bit and see a beautiful sunset and walk around in a quaint old town with a teenie tiny amusment park remiscient of Coney Island, come on over! We are planning to go every Monday if the weather is nice. I hear there was a magician there once, and when the weather is nice a lot more people show up. But we don't care about that, it's just plain fun and some awesome bonding time!
Cool meetup! It will be good for you to find someone to jam with regularly. ![]()
Never ridden a bike. Yes, the man I call husband owns a two seater. My 9 year old is his riding buddy.
I lied and looked at it tonight. Sounds like a corny love song for the lovely Carla. Lol. Nice Scott. It reminds me of.... You. I can imagine it all rock and punk too. Is this a ballad or a screamer?
Beautiful Guitar NELA! Congrats!!!
Gotta say, it's a cool song. You may also want to contact the artist directly, perhaps whomever answers fan mail will be able to direct you as to where the sheet music for this song can be purchased (or provide some chords!)

Well, I haven't been able to find music, but I think this is the song you're looking for?

if so, please let us know, and maybe one of the handy talented folks here can give you an idea of the chords used on the piano.
Thanks for sharing this with us! Good times, good people, and music, that's what it's all about! Love the photo of the little guy too. Priceless!!
Good for you!!!! Congrats on a paying gig! That's really awesome. Absolutely keep us updated on how it goes and is going. I don't have hundreds of songs. I've been scared of what would happen if someone ever DID offer me something. But, I guess I don't need to worry until/if it ever really does happen. LOL! Sounds like you're ready to go! ![]()
Ok... I guess I had that backwards then. I thought you had to be right up close w/ the 58 not the 57. Makes sense. I sing too loud to be right up in a mic, but then, I guess if it was quality it wouldn't matter so much. Most of my experience w/ mic's has been karaoke or choir solos... so I have probably NEVER used a GOOD one anyhow! LOL!!
Curious guys, those of you that are all over the 58... is there a preference for the 58 over the 57 for any particular reason? It seems, from what I've read, that the 58 requires you to be all up in the mic and I'm adamantly against singing with my mouth nearly on the mic. Just curious!
I hadn't seen this earlier either. THANK YOU also to all our Chordie Vets. Special thanks to those of you with family that have passed on who served as well.
I just tried it myself, mailing to myself with no luck. Admin may not know this isn't working. I think it just sends a link to the public songbook though anyhow (open songbook, copy and paste link into email as a work around). Ledders, so that we don't over harass admin, go ahead and email him if you haven't yet. if you would prefer me to, I can instead just let me know here. Thanks!
Amy
