Very Nice Phill.
As I was reading I could easily envision what you were saying and where you were going with your poem.A mark of good writing.
True enough it's all disappearing before our eyes so we gotta pick it up or we're gonna loose it all.
Thanks
Kenny
P.S. It wouldn't bother me one bit if we lost rap crap.
Sorry Zurf.... I would like to but.........I think I'm in love with it.
Kenny
I just bought a Cort MR710FFM-NAT. Beautiful guitar but I made sure it fit like a glove by playing as many as I could find as there are a lot of different styles. LISTEN TO Zurf
Cort also makes Gibson and other top models just not sure which ones.
Bottom line....A quality guitar for the money you pay.
Hey Doc I agree with Roger. Remove all strings and clean fret board. I usually set my string in the Hole and pin it,hold it out to the machine head and cut it at the next machine head. Give the string a 90 degree bend 1/2" from end, feed it in holding string tension and carry on.
Hope that helps
Kenny
Hey Doc
First I want to say thank you for turning me on to the Korg PX5D. It is an awesome little unit that I know will help me tons in learning.I gotta agree with you that the rhythm sections are outstanding. I have a hard time keeping time playing with others but me thinks that is just nerves.
As for your back problems, it's gotta be pretty frustrating only playing for short periods of time before getting sore.I wonder if there is a back brace they can fit you up with to help in this area, maybe one that could transfer all the weight of the guitar on to your hips so your back holds no weight at all. I have had back problems myself and have been out of commission for a year on and off(I just want to be able to put my socks on LOL) Any ways there are lots of types of braces out there, maybe you could talk to your Doc about it.Hope that helps and I agree with Nela that there are more Chordies in Belgium by looking at the Bio's.A brother needs some help so step up to the plate and make the world a better place.
One last thing docphil...Thanks for some of the intriguing questions you have proposed as most times the answers are just as intriguing.
Thanks Bro and thinking about ya.

I just had a listened to "Walking" and liked it a lot
Did you post the lyrics at Chordie cause if you did I don't recall them (It is awful early here LOL)
Nice job Hope to be joining you soon

Thanks Russell
I will check out OurStage.Sounds like a fun place.I'm guessing it is similar to MySpace.

Thanks for your input James
I've done some searching on the net about this and I didn't find anything about cons but I'm sure there out there.I'm presently joining Myspace as an artist and will be on the lookout for contests like the one you entered. It could be fun trying to write to somebody else's theme but first I gotta get the recording thing down.
Thanks Again.
As for "Talkin about Golf".Very punny song with lots of truths about the game.It is a great game as I try to get out as often as possible...at least once a year. It's good for the senses to see all the green and hear all the swearing from somewhere in the distance. Gotta have good nerves to play the game ,thats why I stink at it. LOL
Any chance of you reposting your song at Myspace so us newbies can hear it?
Any chance of you bringing up the original post as there are some pretty funny stories that a lot of us newbies would like to read?
Thanks
Kenny
Wow !!! Thats a mouthful of a song there James. Stuff happens but at least you can laugh about it.

Good song daddycool
Reminds me of the John Wayne flic "The Cowboys".
I watched "Two mules for Sister Sarah"yesterday.A good Clint Eastwood oldie.
Thanks

Congrats to all my friends on the Emerald Isle.Padrik makes a fine champion.
KAP54
Yup!!!He's folding already but it would have been a great story. He does have a lot of final round blues to his credit but a lot of them are due to an incredible shot made by his opponents.

While watching the Open golf and reading up on the Korg PX5D, playing my guitar, thinking of other tunes and if I will be able to record them properly I got to thinking about contests. My whole life I have been told that I am a decent writer and should try and do
something but self confidencehas been my downfall.
After posting my songs on Chordie and getting positive responses I feel that I would like to explore this option as my self confidence has been given a huge lift from this site.
Thank You one and all.
My questions are: 1) Can contests be profitable as cash always has and always will be a problem.
2) What are some reputable contests.(I see that Russel has entered in the Myspace contests)
3) What are the pros and cons (if any) of entering them.
4) If a song has been entered in one contest, can it be entered in another contest
or could there be hidden small print claiming ownership.
This is just food for thought for me as it gives me one more thing to get excited about which is helping my confidence.
Thanks Again

P.S. 10:30 am Norman down by 1 stroke to Harrington and I'm canceling my ticket to Vegas.
Welcome flatpicker
Lots of friendly Chordies here to help you if you need it.From finding links to music, to guitar questions, to just shooting the breeze.Ask and ye shall receive.
Kenny
9:25 am in Canada.....Norman the Shark vs Harrington just teed off.Who's it gonna be.
Big soft spot for both golfers as my man Mike Weir isn't in the hunt.
Lots of wind,no rain, lots of bunkers and fesque(I think thats how to spell fesque).
Great course.
Could be a fun final
My money's on Norman.

Thanks Roger
Practicing and praying as I type
Lots to learn and a budget to appease and so on ...and so on.
Thanks again for your work on "American Dream"

Attaboy...But you gotta finish them.
Good work,I could here the lyrics just fine. They both have the makings of good songs.
Find some time and get er done son
KAP54
Thank You Ken:)
Being a piano/keyboard piece I had to leave a lot of the chords out because I don't know how to put it on paper.Just the main chord progression to get the song across. This will be one of my first recordings hopefully, once I get the rest of my gear and learn (LOL) how to put it all together.
Thanks Again
KAP54
The song will remain as is, other than instrumentals in the breaks. Thanks again Roger
I agree with you James, the autoharp gives it a nice feel. When I record it I will be keeping it in mind.
Thanks James
Kenny
Thank You last_rebel
I'm glad you liked it and I hope that life's finding you in a good way, unlike the mind state I was in when I wrote this song.
We must keep on keepin on.
Thanks Again
KAP54
Thanks Ken
A key higher makes sense but the fishman tuner had it reading in tune before and after tuning down.
At least I can sing with it now(Well that's debatable LOL)
