Re: Coated Strings on an Electric? (9 replies, posted in Electric)
only problem I found with the elixirs is they take a little time to bed in but as I said I have had the same set on my tele 2 yrs now and I really hammer it they still sound good .

Re: Coated Strings on an Electric? (9 replies, posted in Electric)
Yeah I have elixir on my Tele they have been on 2 years and I can't bring my self to change them.I thought they were causing excessive fret wear but it hasn't got any worse.I have gives this guitar regularly over this period and it still sounds the same as it did once the strings settled.

Re: Rosie (4 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Further to Dinos comment maybe use a capo then the same three chords become three different ones, example E major played with the capo on the third fret becomes G major this may help to get in the same key as your voice if you need to .Also try a lighter pick the strum pattern sounds a little heavy .Well done with the lyrics ,will you publish it on here ?

Bass walk up E to A through out
E7#9 funky Hendrix type rhythm
Sittin here waitin for some action
on my own cant get no reaction
don’t know why theres no satisfaction
might as well go join another faction
Chorus x2
Ad lib using these phrases
You cant see just what’s in store
you cant see the future
you cant see what’s in store
might be revolution
might be evolution
From the south there’s a warm wind blowin
in the north I bet that its snowing
in the mountains there’s a dark cloud growing
in the valley, rivers overflowing.
Chorus x2
Ad lib using these phrases
You cant see just what’s in store
you cant see the future
you cant see what’s in store
might be revolution
might be evolution
I keep on talkin but you don’t hear me
Tho my words all come out clearly
now and again you just say really
pay some attention then you can feel me
Chorus x2 solo and ad lib

Big round of applause for the youth of Sitia and Agios Nicolas for organising two events to raise money for medicines to be sent to Gaza
In a world full of death and destruction it's good to see a bunch of kids doing something positive.
The first event took place last week at the hight of the holiday season in Agios Nicolas the next Will be on the 6 th of Sept in Sitia .
Good work guys

Any one having problems uploading at the moment .I have found that since I got my new computer (windows 8 )that I had to use the old uploader on sound cloud which worked fine ,however this week it seems to have disappeared completely and while the new uploader seems to do its job ie you drag and drop your files onto the blank page it shows ,then it tells you its uploading ,but no save button appears so you cant complete the upload at the end .
I've written to sound cloud about it ( n0 reply) and gone through there problem page with no success
Any ideas greatfully received.

Thanks for posting the lyric Russ great stuff .Takes me back a few years to when my wife ,who's a criminology lecturer was making a movie about sex chat lines and its affect on society. The girl who was featured looked nothing like the ones in your vid but had the guys on the phone convinced that she did.It was interesting and informative as to how some people make a living.

Slaughter of innocents
Am
You rain down your terror
Em
on people like me
F
Without rhyme or reason
Am
the whole world can see
Am
My brothers and sisters
Em
die screaming in pain
F
No one should suffer
Am
for somebody's gain
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy set my people free
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy take these chains off me
Am
They say lightening can
Em
never strike the same place
F
As bolt after bolt
Am
seems to target my place
Am
The innocents perish
Em
the people erased
F
The meaning of mercy
Am
turned arse about face
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy set my people free
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy take these chains off me
Am
Your promises vanish
Em
as quick as pie crust
F
and memories dissolve
Am
blown away with the dust
Am
All of your words
Em
appear back to front
F
It is my opinion
Am
that you are a **** …
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy set my people free
Am- Em-F F F Em Em Am
De –mocracy take these chains off me

Re: just started playing (24 replies, posted in Acoustic)
OK what I would suggest here once you have learned a few basic chords practice practice practice chose a couple of songs you like and feel comfortable with .If you have a local open mic or folk club ,get up and play nothing improves you faster than performing .The two clubs I visit in the UK are genuinely helpful they will not shoot you down they will offer support .Alternatively use You tube and put your songs on here this community is the best and the people here will always offer good constructive advice to old and new alike .Glad to have you on board Dean
