I just picked up a new Cort acoustic electric and have no complaints as it feels fine and sounds great. Freshly tuned from the store, with a new battery I got home and started playing it.To my horror I found that it was tuned way too high for my vocal range. It tuned alright on the Fishman tuner.I checked it against my old battle axe and found it was definetly pitched higher so I tuned the Cort down to it and rechecked it on the Fishman tuner and it tuned just fine.
My questions are:(1) Did I just tune it down 1 octave?
(2) Will this affect my new baby in any way negatively?
(3) If I could tune it down, I'm guessing 1 octave, can I tune it down 2 octaves and not have any problems?

Yup.Connect your guitar and run it through to your amp.
Guitardocphil did a review on effects processors a few threads before this post and it has some very good links to the korg site that will explain it better than I can as I'm just learning. You should check it out.I think its a handy tool to have and it has a lot more to it than effects

Thanks Upyerkilt and dino48.
No sweat Dino. It's played kind of springsteeny but upbeat Dylan works to.I am getting together some gear for recording my tunes and thanks to James this song will be near the top of he list to do as it meant a lot to me.
Thanks Again ![]()

Thanks Tim I'm learnin myself.
The Korg PX5D is a little gizmo that is 4 1/2" x 3" x 3/4" and it is packed with effects.180 effects that you can program to use 7 at the same time.100 user programs,100 preset programs.I am using it with my acoustic but it is meant for electric and bass guitars.MAN...I got a lotta learning to do. guitardocphil turned me on to this unit and knows alot about them.Great deal for $250 Canadian ![]()

This is a song I wrote mid 90's when my brain wasn't so straight and I forgot all about it until I read James song "Something to Hold" We have a line that is the same and it rekindled my memory. Thanks James ![]()
The G chord is played 320033
The Cadd9 is played 032033
Well today I dropped a bit of coin and bought a new acoustic for recording and having some fun.
Thanks for all the input on what and how to search for what I needed.
I bought a Cort MR710FFM-NAT. Not top of the line by any means as it cost me with a case and a free strap(woo-hoo) and a 10' patch chord(woo-hoo woo-hoo) and 3 free picks(woo-hoo woo-hoo woo-hoo) only $492 with taxes. It'll get me where I want to go.
I also bought an effects processor.(Thanks Doc)I now own a Korg Pandora PX5D and am really looking forwards to getting into this. Thanks Again Doc
Gotta go as I have one more post and then I gotta play.
Thanks All

I wonder if they have matching nails to complete the set. Or maybe a nice pair of High Heeled Construction Boots for the woman that has everything.(Note:not to be worn while fixing roof tiles)
Thanks Doll and welcome back from your holidays murasame. You got any good stories to tell?

Hi ILuvJefferyNeroHardy(thats a heck of a handle)
I know exactly how you feel.I have dealt with this my whole life and it is has been very difficult.
Just cause someone knows how to tick you off doesn't mean they know what makes you tick.
I spent my whole youth thinking the same thing and bottling myself up in my"safe place" so nobody could reach out and hurt me.As I got older it didn't get any better and I ended up in some pretty intensive therapy. In that therapy I found out that the best thing I could've done was discuss this with my Mom(but like you I didn't want to worry her as my Dad passed away at a young age)
There is no shame in counseling and I suggest and hope you find someone you feel good with.
Another way to look at this is that you have to train your brain to not feel these emotions as the emotional brain is dictating to the logical brain what to feel.I know it sounds kinda goofy but I am 54 and you have to trust me when I say I've been there and that's a long hill to climb unless you start early.
Have you thought about writing songs about how you feel?
I truly hope this helps you and if you want to Email me to talk thats OK to.

Just keep on keepin on Linusguitar.Don't be too hard on yourself,I'll bet your audience doesn't think it sounds mechanical. As a suggestion, all I can say is as you grow older that feeling will come out in your musical abilities, as you learn to play in front of people. It may feel to you that you are not nervous but I'm guessing you probably are.Than again,I'm me and you...are you.
You got me beat cause I can't play in front of people period and I'm 54 years young LOL
Hope that helps ![]()

Thank You Roger and James.
Tough coming up with some of the lyrics as I do see a lot of down and out people here in Ontario as can be attested by all worldwide. It's an important song for me because it really and truly bothers me to see this when it shouldn't be.I will be reposting with one last verse shortly.
Thanks Again ![]()
